Covid 19 Updates

Guidelines for the Venue - Last Updated 7/15/21

Please check this area often, because it changes regularly. As of June 1st, the city of Chicago and the venue have similar guidelines for large indoor groups over 50. The venue guidelines take precedence since the new variant has seen an uptick in infections this July. Please read:
All guests attending the wedding should be vaccinated and must bring a valid vaccination card or proof of vaccination. If you do not have proof of vaccination or a negative COVID test that was taken within 5 days of the event, then you are allowed only masked entry to the event, except during eating or drinking. For those that are not vaccinated but have a negative test, you are allowed to enter the ceremony and reception but are not allowed to remove your mask nor enter the dance floor area at any time. If you are not vaccinated, please remember that masks are required when you are not eating or drinking and your seating may be adjusted based on that statusThose with proof of vaccination will be given a wristband that allows them to enter any of the wedding spaces without a mask. As these guidelines change, this space will be updated. Please feel free to reach out to us for clarity, but understand we have no control over these guidelines nor the capacity to make exceptions on behalf of the city or venue.

Parking and Transportation

How to get there...

If you are a city dweller or are staying at a city hotel, we definitely recommend traveling to the wedding via Uber or Lyft. The host hotel, Sophy, is about a 12-minute drive to the venue. There are still limitations to valet parking due to Covid and a few street closures for the setup of Lollapalooza the following week, but here are a few suggestions if you are driving:

Parking facilities:

There is a multitude of parking lots in the area, but these are the closest to the venue.

Park1 is a self-pay lot located at 50 E. Harrison on the corner of Wabash and Harrison. It is one block from the venue, and across from the TraveLodge on the NE corner of Wabash and Harrison. It is currently $18 for 12 hours on the weekends.

Multi Park is a self-park on the NE corner of Balbo and Wabash next to the Merle Reskin Theater. It is currently $15 for 10 hours on the weekend and is also about a block away from the venue.

Grant Park South is the facility that the venue contracts with for discounted parking. It is located at 325 S. Michigan and is $9 for 12 hours. It is nearly 3 blocks away, so be mindful if it is rainy or you are in a fabulous heel!

Valet parking options are at The Blackstone Hotel or The Hilton. Blackstone is on the same street as the venue, but the valet stand is around the corner on Balbo. The Hilton is directly across the street from The Blackstone. Parking pricing is unavailable at this time because neither venue will have valet until July. I will update as soon as it is posted.

FAQ

Current Questions

Hi! It's Jennifer here! I will add and answer any questions that may have been asked to me personally in this spot so that they can benefit the whole crew. If you have any questions, please let me know!

What is the dress code, and is there a theme?

The dress code is semi-formal, and we don't do themes. LOL! I wouldn't wear white, because that's my thing, but just look fabulous!

Is there street parking near the venue?

There is! I wouldn't use it, because if you are there for the ceremony and the reception, it will end up being more expensive than the parking facilities we have recommended. See above for specifics on those locations.

Will liquor be served?

If it isn't, I'm not going.

Do you recommend other hotels besides the Sophy?

The Sophy is where the room block is for the weekend, but I do have other ideas! My 5-star choices are The Langham, Waldorf Astoria, and The Peninsula. For 4 star options, The London House and The Loews are great. All of these are within 10 minutes of the venue as well. If you are looking for properties near the venue, then take a look at The Blackstone and The Hilton. They are both less than a block away.

Is this a Wishing Well wedding?

Yes! This is primarily a wishing-well wedding, but there is a condensed list of options for bridal shower guests and those who prefer to give a physical gift instead. Please see the Gift link above for options. If you are looking for a shower gift that isn't on the standard registry, please check your email for a more specific list of ideas from my sisters.

If I do not believe in being vaccinated, can I still attend?

We acknowledge your choice, but you won't be able to attend if you are not vaccinated or do not have a negative Covid test. Please see the FAQ section above for the specifics.
