When we first met...

We met around 2011 through a mutual friend. We were friends, or more as acquaintances for a few years.

Boyfriend and Girlfriend

Around the end of 2013 and beginning of 2014, we started hanging out more at house parties, game nights, etc. Eventually, we started dating for a few weeks and eventually made it official on February 26th, 2014.

Engaged!

You may find this quick but when you know...you know!

Ryan-Paul went down on one knee on the beautiful bridge at Bois-Franc Park and asked to spend rest of our lives together.

May 23rd, 2014, we were officially engaged!

Taking our time

Although we were not ready to plan a wedding. We spent the last 5 years growing as an individual and as a couple.

We worked on our careers, getting our own place, travelling and establishing a good foundation for the future before we decided to tie the knot.

Of course, just like every other couple, we had our fair share of ups and downs. Throughout the years, we learned to overcome our obstacles through patience, compromise and by listening to one another (..sometimes haha)

Hello 416

Around the end of 2015 and beginning of 2016, we became a long distance couple.

I moved to Toronto to pursue my flight attendant career and took advantage of my days off to fly to Montreal as much as I could.

A few months after, Ryan decided to pack up our Ville St-Laurent apartment to join me in Toronto. YAY!

+1

We initially wanted to have our wedding in 2018, but when we found out we were pregnant, we couldn't be any more happier! With no hesitation, we put the whole wedding idea on hold and focused on soaking up the fact that we were going to become mommy & daddy!

Legally Married

We eloped!

We quickly got married in Toronto a few weeks before our little bundle of joy was born.

Legally married on May 23rd, 2018

Jamie-Rafael Mar Abalos

On June 13th, 2018, our first baby boy was born!

Let the planning begin!

After a full year of marriage and parenthood, we decided to go in full force on planning our wedding celebration with our family and friends on our 2nd year anniversary.

See you there!

Why Mexico?

We've always wanted to visit Mexico! We have so much love for Mexican food and of course, who doesn't love a good day on the beach, with good food, and unlimited drinks with amazing people?!

Why May 23rd?

It is the same date we got engaged, legally married and for next year, it will be our 2nd year anniversary. (Less dates to memorize too haha)

Why a destination wedding?

We narrowed down our decision between Toronto or All-Inclusive in the Caribbean. When we finalized our decision for a destination wedding, the reason came to mind is the reality of not having the time to have a vacation with family and/or friends. Ever since we had our little handsome Jamie, we find it difficult to plan trips with family and friends due to work schedules and kids. It is also difficult to find time to visit you all in Montreal too and even more challenging when it comes to trips. This wedding is a good opportunity to finally have a vacation with all the important people in our lives, to have you all witness our celebration of love and to make new memories that we will never forget!

We are beyond excited that this day is finally happening. We can't wait to see you all and we hope you can make it!

See you soon!

With lots of love,

Jackielyn & Ryan-Paul
