2-4-1 Cocktails

As all great love stories start, it began with two swipes right. After minimal messages and some reconsideration (on both sides), Baloo and I went on our first date with Jack on December 6th 2018. Running a bit behind I got a text from Jack saying "It's 2-4-1 cocktails what do you want?" I thought he's either really fun or cheap and according to him, he's both.

After a few cocktails we finally found the things that remain our two biggest similarities: our love for Always Sunny in Philadelphia and our love for Baloo. Jack was heading back to the U.K for Christmas 5 days after our first date so we quickly scheduled dates two & three before he departed. When he came back to New York in the New Year with wine gums and a Union Jack sweater for Baloo the rest became history.

Umm I'm proposing to you

In late September 2021 we realized that we didn't have a weekend to ourselves until 2022 and planned a date night for Friday, October 1st. However, Jack and the lads went out for a big one on the 30th (they all still deny he shared any details of the proposal that night, but the WAGS are very suspect). While getting ready for work on the Friday, it was very obvious that a date night wasn't happening but Jack swore he would make it up to me on the Saturday. Hopes were not high as he told me to wear 'athletic wear' which we all know is laughable.

Little did I know, he pulled together the most perfect proposal in under 24 hours on 3 hours of sleep.

Saturday morning I went to the gym and Jack claimed to go for a run. But he was in fact taking the train to New Jersey to beg the women at FedEx to give him the engagement ring despite him not having a US government issued ID. The only thing he could share for 'the big day he had planned' was that we would watch the Penn State game at Hairy Lemon.

Jack suddenly got antsier then usual asking if I wanted to go to the roof for mimosas. As soon as we got to the roof and cheers'd to date day, Jack slid off the couch onto one knee and blurted "I'm proposing to you."

While calling our friends and family, we hopped in a car and headed to Ten Degrees as Jack reserved the table we sat at on our first date to celebrate. From there he took us on a private helicopter ride of New York and continued the celebrations at Hairy Lemon with our friends for the Penn State game!
