Many people don't know this, but Tara and Humzah's story began way back in 2001, where they went to seventh grade together at Hopkins Junior High. Tara knew Humzah as a tall guy that played basketball sometimes and Humzah knew Tara as that weird girl who dressed as a "cereal killer" for Halloween.

Humzah moved away and Tara stayed in Fremont, but they were reconnected in 2007 at UC Irvine on Halloween. They grew closer and closer as friends throughout their four years of college, and by senior year they were inseparable.

In 2011, they graduated from UC Irvine and spent a lot of the summer together. Humzah had gotten into law school at Georgetown University, and would be heading to Washington, DC at the end of the summer. A few months later, Tara visited him and interviewed at a few law firms and landed a job as a paralegal to prep for law school.

And so began their life in DC. Humzah graduated from law school at Georgetown and Tara graduated from law school at George Washington University. They created a supportive and fun family of friends on the East Coast, including those they had known for years in California and those they met living in DC. Even though they made their homes in DC, they never stopped repping the Bay (Warriors, Niners, Giants). They both got jobs as practicing lawyers. They continued to work towards starting their life together.

When Humzah proposed, it was one of the happiest days of their lives. Everything was perfect. Both of their families were supportive and overjoyed and, before long, the wedding planning started. As you can see, it has been quite a journey. Thank you to all of our family and friends who supported us throughout our relationship, through ups and downs, good and bad, happy and sad. We are thrilled to be celebrating "making it official" with all of you!
