Things to Do

Hoyo Azul

The Hoyo Azul Lagoon, also known as the "Blue Hole," is a cenote (or a natural swimming hole usually found in limestone caves) located at the foot of a cliff. The cenote sits within Scape Park, a natural theme park located within the resort and real estate development of Cap Cana. Tours of the swimming hole are offered through the theme park and include transportation to and from any Punta Cana or Bavaro hotels, a brief hike and swim in the turquoise waters. Alternatively, visitors can take a zip line tour of the cenote on the Farallon Zip Line course, which includes 16 platforms and eight lines that travel above cliffs, trees and finally into the cenote itself.

Saona Island - Day Trip

Isla Saona or Saona Island, located 12 miles off the southeastern coast of the Dominican Republic, ranks among the top five most popular excursions in the DR. It's no surprise- this Caribbean island off the coast of Bayahibe is straight out of a postcard from paradise with its numerous powdery white sand beaches, bright turquoise waters, sandbanks, and towering palm trees, with no major development.

Clubs/Nightlife

There are 3 bumping clubs (discos) - Imagine (which is in a cave), Jewel, and Oro (inside Hard Rock hotel).  Be prepared to smell like an ashtray when you come out… and don’t mind the ladies of the night. Also, don’t plan to come until after 11 pm, the places don’t get busy till midnight. Oro & Jewel put on concerts from time to time. It’s a good idea to check what’s happening during the week you will be there. David Guetta comes to play at Oro every New Years Eve, recently Rihanna was there too. Jewel is owned by Akon – that’s just some fun Punta Cana trivia for ya!
