How do I reserve my room?

**We have renegotiated our room block rates. However, please feel free to shop around for more competitive rates. The resort website is Melia.com for direct booking as an alternative to the travel agency.**

The Wedding Couple has selected Melia Punta Cana to host their special day. A room block has been set up at the resort with locked-in rooms and rates for your stay. The rooms are reserved for a 7-night window of 11/7/2019-11/14/2019. You are welcome to travel any number of nights/dates you wish between this 7 night window for the locked-in rates to apply. If you wish to travel for dates outside of this window or book a different room category, please contact our Wedding Guest Coordinators for rates and availability. A $100 per person deposit is due at the time of booking (no later than July 10, 2019) and payment in full will be due August 29, 2019. Payment options are available (for more info, inquire with the Apple Vacations Service Team).

Please contact Apple Vacations Service Team to reserve your room.

Are kids welcome?

While we request that the wedding ceremony/reception remain an adults-only affair, our hope is that you make a vacation out of this trip. Feel free to invite your friends and family. Your guests can take full advantage of our travel agent for their accommodations and are also invited to join us for the welcome excursion (additional fees apply). However, please keep in mind that for our wedding ceremony/reception, seating is limited to invited adult guests only. We hope not to offend anyone with our decision, but we would like to keep our ceremony intimate and ask that you respect our wishes.

Please note, due to the room block's location within the adult-only portion of the resort, you will have to make your accommodations within the family-friendly Meliá Caribe Beach resort if bringing anyone under the age of 18. Please contact us or our guest coordinator, Heather Mitchell, with Apple Vacations at hmitchel@applelg.net to arrange accommodations on the family-friendly portion of the resort.

When should I arrive in Punta Cana?

We suggest arriving either Friday, November 8th or Saturday, November 9th and departing either Tuesday, November 12th or Wednesday, November 13th, but you are welcome to arrive earlier or stay longer.

The wedding block is available Thursday, November 7th through Thursday, November 14th.

The bride and groom will arrive earlier in the week to finalize wedding plans.

What is the weather like in the DR?

The weather in the Dominican Republic is hot and humid with averages in the 80s year around. Humidity is lowest during Dec-Feb and increases the closer you get to August. Hurricane season starts in June and continues through November. There is a gentle breeze that comes off the ocean on most days, so make sure to pack plenty of sunscreen because the breeze makes it easy to forget just how hot and strong the sun really is!

Do I need an adapter for electronics?

You do not need an adapter for your electronics; the outlets in the DR will accept U.S. plugs.

What time should I arrive for the ceremony?

Shuttle pick up at Meliá: TBD

If you are staying at the resort, a shuttle will pick you up the day of the wedding and take you back to the resort after the reception.

If you are staying elsewhere and arranging your own transportation, please arrive no later than TBD.

Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?

Weather permitting, the ceremony will be held outdoors on the beach. The reception dinner will be held in an open-air, beach-front restaurant with outdoor party areas.

What is the Dress Code for the wedding?

Dress Code:

Beach Casual

Dress to impress, but also dress for the elements (sun, sand and water). Anything you'd wear to a nice restaurant on a summer night is appropriate. Consider light, flowing fabrics such as linen or cotton. Footwear is recommended for transportation to/from the venue.

Example of what He should wear:
Dress pants or khaki/golf shorts with a button-down shirt or polo.

Example of what She should wear:
A summer dress or a skirt/pants/capris with a nice blouse.

Is there a registry?

Your presence is the best gift we wish to receive! However, if you wish to provide a gift, we have registered at Blueprint Registry.

Whom should I contact with additional questions?

For all travel related questions, please contact our guest coordinators at Apple Vacations. They can assist with passport questions, airfare, lodging, and transportation.
