Hannah and Jake met in college, during orientation, only moments after leaving their parents. Hannah was crying. Jake was wearing his baseball hat backwards. They made small talk over mandatory ice-breakers. The rest is history.
Jake invited Hannah out to dinner at the Crosby Hotel. He pretended to be busy with work right up until the reservation. (He was actually corralling their parents, siblings, Hannah's grandparents, and close friend Dung!) An attendant met Hannah at the front desk and led her to a private room where she watched a video that Jake had filmed months before during a trip to Holy Cross.
After Jake proposed (and Hannah said YES!), Jake led Hannah out across the hall where everyone was waiting with champagne!
Why is Hannah's nickname Lizard?
Jake started calling Hannah "a lizard" shortly after they started dating because of how she loves to lay out in the sun. The nickname stuck and he's called her "Lizard" ever since. It's even engraved on the inside of her engagement ring.
