Traveling to and from the DR from MN is about a 5 hour flight non stop. We recommended trying to find a direct non stop flight as connecting flight layovers can be anywhere from 1 to 4+ hours. For international flights keep in mind that you should be arriving at least 2 hours before your flight departs.
Once you arrive to DR, estimate about 1 hour to get through customs and grabb your bags. It is approximately 1 hour to travel to and from the resort. You will get the most out of your all inclusive experience if you can plan to arrive before dinner at the resort the day you are traveling!
Estimate about $500 dollars round trip from MN to DR. This should give you a good ballpark of what to be keeping an eye out for when booking flights. We recommend looking into sun country as they have non stop flights round trip for a good price.
We like using the phone app HOPPER (link below). Hopper predicts prices with 95% accuracy up to 1 year in advance. No ads, no spam, no stress — just accurate predictions and the easiest way to book and save.
You can add your travel date times, flexible dates and it will keep watching flight info for you with suggestions if you should wait for a better deal. Once you find the best price, we recommend booking directly through the airline instead of a third party. Plan to book your flights at least 6 weeks in advance please don’t wait to book till the last minute.
In June of 2019 we traveled to the resort and found flights through the hopper app round trip non stop for as low as $445 on sun county.
Shuttles & Golf Carts Provided
Casa De Campo will be providing a shuttle service for guests to and from the airport. There will be a price just for transportation to and from the airport and exact price will be more accurately determined once we know how many guests will be traveling together at one time.
We recommend not renting a car as it can get expensive and the all-inclusive package at the resort includes a 4 person golf cart for each room.
Shuttles will also be available to provide transportation to certain destinations for free within the resort a 7,000 acre gated community.
We encourage family and friends to coordinate booking their flights together as much as they can. Being on the same flights will make overall traveling and communication easier. This will also be more budget friendly as transportation is arranged for your arrival and departure to and from the resort.
Please message us through the website once you book your flights with your info so we can make sure the appropriate transportation is arranged for pick up and drop off with the resort.
Dominican Republic Passport Requirements
Dominican Republic passport requirements state that a valid U.S. passport, with at least one blank page for an entry stamp, is required when visiting the Dominican Republic. Make sure to check the expiration of your current passport and that it will be valid through June 2020.
If you need to apply for a passport due it as soon as international travel is confirmed. The cost will be greater if applying for a passport within two weeks of travel time and need an expedited application. You can learn more about the requirements and documents needed to obtain a U.S. passport below.
Passport Holder Cover Wallet
We recommend getting a passport holder to keep all your important documents such as license, credit cards, money, passport, boarding pass etc together especially while traveling. Your rooms at the resort will also provide a safe for important items. We included a link below for a suggested passport wallet cover that is RFID blocking.
