Haley and Scott met as high schoolers at a medical conference in Idaho. With each of their dads attending meetings all day, the unlikely pair started exploring Coeur d’Alene together. Throughout the next week, they played against each other in tennis, dove off cliffs, and enjoyed meals together. An instant friendship formed.
As Haley returned to NYU and Scott to Texas A&M, they stayed in touch, frequently texting and sending snapchats.
Entering their senior year of college, Scott interviewed at a medical school in New York. He asked Haley if she could be his tour guide.
What followed was a whirlwind of a week that included many trips to central park, Scott pretending to be an NYU frat boy to sneak into Haley’s sorority event, several rooftop bars, and the procession to their first kiss at the end of the week. They were in love.
After nearly 3 years of dating, Scott led Haley on a hike along Honolua Bay in Maui, Hawaii. As the sun set on the longest day of the year, Scott got down on one knee and asked Haley to spend the rest of his life with him.
A very tearful and emphatic "yes" ensued, and the two spent the next week on a blissful engagement moon in Hawaii.
The 1,723 days between the couple's first kiss and the wedding have been magical. But they each know the best is yet to come.
