Travel to Crete
You may book flights directly to Chania (CHQ), or alternatively to Heraklion (HER). Heraklion is about 2 hours away by car to Chania. Ideally book your flights at least 2 months in advance as July is a busy season and travel can be quite expensive. There are ferries that leave Heraklion and can take you to other Greek islands (see below)
The best option to travel within Crete is to rent a car, as the island is quite big.
You may also use public buses:

Lastly, if you want to use taxi service for longer distances make sure book in advance (2-3 days before). There is no Uber/Lyft in the city. Here is a local taxi company you may call: Taxi Hermes. Address: Eparchiakos Dromos Mournion 38, Mournies 733 00, Phone: 2821 098700
The day of the wedding, shuttles will be available to take you back to your hotel and will leave at various points throughout the evening.
