Flights

Tucson International Airport (TUS)

TUS is the closest to the venue and downtown Tucson area. Taxis, shuttles, and Uber/Lyft are available and can take you downtown in about 15-20 minutes.

Phoenix International Airport (PHX)

PHX is a larger hub than Tucson International Airport, so if you're looking to save on flights, consider this airport.

Keep in mind, the drive from Phoenix to the venue in Tucson is approximately 1.5 hours.

FAQs

What if I'm driving from Los Angeles?

Sounds terrible (we know) but if you must, plan for a near 7.5-hour drive from Los Angeles. Take the 10 FWY all the way.

Are there any recommended travel hacks?

Yes! Check out www.skiplagged.com to possibly score cheaper flights. The only caveat: you cannot bring checked luggage, so plan accordingly!

Our Favorite Spots

We adore Tucson. If you have some time before or after the wedding, below are some of our favorite places to dine and explore:

DINE: OBON
OBON is where we had our first date! We really did laugh almost the entire time and enjoyed some delicious ramen and sushi. Highly recommend the Shiro Maki with piping hot sake.

DINE: Cafe Desta
Cafe Desta is WONDERFUL. Ethiopian cuisine is one of our favorites and Cafe Desta features not only incredible food but also a Bring Your Own Beer/Wine policy. We had our second date here!

DINE: 47 Scott | Scott & Co.
After our first date dinner, we walked over to this speakeasy-style bar for a drink. This is where Krystal made her infamous Scott Walker comment. If you haven't heard the story yet, be sure to ask her ;) 47 Scott is the bistro, Scott & Co is the bar that serves up delightful craft cocktails.

DINE: Sky Bar & Brooklyn Pizza Company
Solar-powered + astronomy + bar. Screens show live views of the moon and other planets (depending on atmospheric conditions). You'll often find astronomy enthusiasts with powerful telescopes parked outside the bar willing to share the views and knowledge. The solar-powered pizzeria next door, Brooklyn Pizza Company, is also a must-try!

DINE: La Cocina
A lovely little courtyard, illuminated by string lights, surrounded by restaurants and bars. If you’re in the mood to dance the night away, you can often find live bands playing here throughout the week.

EXPLORE:  4th Ave
Lined with boutique shops, bars, and eateries, 4th Avenue is a popular place to hang out. Whenever we visit Tucson, we always find ourselves walking this street in search of gifts or food, or to simply see what's new in town.

EXPLORE: Picacho Peak State Park
If you're interested in a quick (and strenuous) hike, check out Picacho Peak! Not for the faint of heart, the journey to the top features a go-big-or-go-home incline that requires you to hold on tight to chain links. Why is this special to us? Picacho Peak was our first hike together.

EXPLORE: Saguaro National Park
Did you know? Tucson is home to the majestic Saguaro, the largest cacti in the nation, and Arizona's state flower is the Saguaro cactus blossom which blooms on top of the Saguaro cacti. In all our travels, we’ve found Tucson’s desert landscape to be one of the most beautiful and Saguaro National Park ranks high on our list of must-visit sites.

EXPLORE: Mount Lemmon
Standing tall above the city of Tucson, Mount Lemmon is the highest point in the Santa Catalina Mountains. This is a special location for us for a couple of reasons: we’ve escaped here - even before we knew one another - to soak in solitude. Here, we answered the internet-famous “36 Questions to Fall in Love”. Here, Jonathan first tried to put his arm around Krystal and it was very awkward. The drive up the mountain is scenic, be sure to visit Windy Point, and enjoy cookies at the Cookie Cabin.

EXPLORE: Pima Air & Space Museum
Located next to Davis-Monthan Air Force Base and featuring the renowned Boneyard (the largest aircraft storage and preservation lot in the world), the Pima Air & Space Museum showcases over 350 historical aircrafts. We actually considered the museum for our wedding venue!
