The Wilcox Travel shuttle will pick you up from the hotel’s front entrance and bring you to the ceremony and reception! It will also drop you back off at the end of the night. You will not have the option to drive up to Twickenham due to parking limitations. Look for a Mercedes sprinter van.

Fall is beautiful in the mountains so this is a great time to check out all of the amazing foliage! Hop on the Blue Ridge Parkway, visit picturesque downtown West Jefferson, or head to Boone, NC where Appalachian State University is located (the groom’s alma mater.)

There a few lovely local dining options in West Jefferson, NC or head to Boone, NC for a larger variety of options including taprooms, bakeries, and pizzerias. Some of our favorites include:

Hopefully no one needs to use this, but Ashe Memorial Hospital is the nearest hospital offering an emergency room and urgent care clinic.

No, the shuttle will only be available on Saturday to take you to and from Twickenham for the festivities. The shuttle will run from about an hour before the ceremony and until the end of the reception. There is a strict no alcohol or smoking policy while on the shuttle.

Twickenham has limited parking so you will not be able to drive there on Saturday. If you arrive on Friday there are limited parking spaces you can use to visit the grounds.

It can go from 70 and sunny in the mountains to cold and raining pretty quickly so be prepared with warm weather layers and rain gear.

You are free to come up and see Twickenham in your own vehicle on Thursday or Friday, but will not be allowed to drive there on Saturday. You will need to use the shuttle service.

Unfortunately, no. The shuttle will only pick up from the Holiday Inn Express. If you end up staying somewhere else then we would recommend parking at the Holiday Inn Express and taking the shuttle from there.
