Getting to the Villa
Villa Petriolo is located approximately 45 minutes from Florence.
By Air:
From the United States:
There are no non-stop flights from the United States to Florence. However, flights can be booked from any major US city to Florence with a layover in another European city. It is also possible to fly to Florence from any major European city if you choose to take a side trip. We have found that it can be easiest to book these flights independently, as flying within Europe is reliable and inexpensive.
From Europe:
You can fly to Florence from any major European city. Flights within Europe are generally frequent and cost-effective.
By Train:
From Florence:
From Santa Maria Novella (S.M.N.) Railway Station:
Take the train towards Pisa or Livorno.
The stop for the Villa is San Miniato-Fucecchio station (40-45 minutes). See the train schedule here.
From San Miniato-Fucecchio station, you can take a bus available at the train station, or a private car. (We are confirming if private cars are readily available at the station or if they need to be called. We are also inquiring if the hotel has a van available for guest pick-ups).
It is an 11-minute ride by car from the train station to the Villa.
From Rome:
By Air:
Fly directly from Rome to Florence and follow the directions above.
By Train:
Trains from Rome to Florence leave from Termini Station. There are high-speed trains available, with the trip taking approximately 1.5 to 2 hours. See the train schedule here. Once in Florence, follow the directions above.
You can also check for direct trains from Rome to San Miniato-Fucecchio, though these may be local trains with a longer travel time. It is generally best to get to Florence first and then take the train from there.
By Car:
You can rent a car at the airport or other locations in Rome. We recommend booking in advance via Expedia or another travel website. Driving time from Rome Airport to the Villa is approximately 3.5 hours.

By Air:
Fly directly from Milan to Florence and follow the directions above.
By Train:
Trains from Milan to Florence leave from Milano Centrale Station. There are high-speed trains available, with the trip taking approximately 2 hours. See the train schedule here. Once in Florence, follow the directions above.
You can also check for direct trains from Milan to San Miniato-Fucecchio, though these may be local trains with a longer travel time. It is generally best to get to Florence first and then take the train from there.
By Car:
You can rent a car at the airport or other locations in Milan. We recommend booking in advance via Expedia or another travel website. Driving time from Milan Airport to the Villa is approximately 4 to 4.5 hours.
You can also hire a car
If you decide to rent a car to come directly to the Villa, you will probably not need it for the three days of the event, but there is ample parking available.
If you are driving from Rome or Milan to Florence to spend a few days there before the wedding, it is best to return the car upon arrival as driving is restricted within the inner city of Florence.
