Elyse and Christopher started dating in 2014 while attending Nevada High School. For a few months, Christopher hadn't given Elyse the time of day until her consistency and commitment finally prevailed leading to their first date on October 31. Their first date was a Halloween movie in Ames that Elyse failed to tell Christopher she had already seen. After a successful first date, the couple went on weekly dates, supported each other in various activities, and cruised around in Christopher’s 1999 Toyota Camry.

From there they dated through college, both attending the University of Northern Iowa. While in Cedar Falls, you could find them hosting football parties with friends where Christopher manned the grill, frequenting Pump Haus and Whiskey Road, and making late-night McDonald’s runs with friends.

Following graduation from UNI Christopher took a job with the PGA TOUR in Ponte Vedra Beach, FL. After a year of long-distance dating, Elyse moved down and they both enjoyed weekends on the beach, trying new restaurants, and golfing. Christopher wouldn’t tell you, but Elyse was a fantastic caddie, carrying his bag all 18 holes frequently.

After a quick three months together in Florida, they moved to Atlanta, GA for Christopher's career. Embarking on a new journey together in Atlanta was a big adjustment, but together they were able to navigate the crazy traffic, hustle and bustle of a big city, and truly being on their own for the first time. Elyse works for a wonderful family in Atlanta caring for three awesome children.

July 2022 was an exciting month for the couple. While on vacation with Ellie's family in Florida, Christopher got down on one knee in the sand. Through tears and "hyperventilation" he was able to get enough words out to ask Elyse to marry him. A quick "Yes!" sent the gathered restaurant crowd into a roar and the celebration ensued.

Currently residing in Atlanta, you can often find the couple exploring Atlanta's tremendous cuisine, attending concerts and professional sporting events, spending time with friends, and enjoying the warm southern weather.
