It was the Summer of 2009, in a quaint town Upstate where people spend their days lounging and nights partying, that these two souls crossed paths. They were abstractedly drawn to each other’s auras, and their bond began to deepen throughout those summer months. They knew hundreds of miles would physically separate them in the fall, so they spent every possible moment together. Through the early years they spent seasons apart, and discovered the absence of the other was stronger than the presence of others, and no matter how far one was always with the other. Their souls became inseparable, each knew they would not be without the other, and the two became one.
It was the winter of 2017, we traveled to NYC for a weekend to see the sites and some entertainment. We arrived mid-Saturday planning to take in the sunset on Top of The Rock, however, a heavy snowfall obscured that goal. So, we ventured into the city to shop, dine and attend some comedy shows. The next morning, we eagerly set out determined to reach the Top of The Rock. It was a warm and sunny day, and the city was covered in fresh, sparkling snow. We ascended with growing anticipation, and after reaching the peak, knew it was worth it. The beautiful view was only surpassed by our love for each other. Several selfies later we could not quite capture the moment in its entirety, and it was at that moment a woman approached us and offered to take our picture. A few shots in, Elise turned to the woman to inspect the photos and asked to take one more. As she turned back, Dominic was on his knee, clasping a ring he spoke, “When you look out, you see the world,” gesturing towards the view, “When I look up, I see my world.” As he asked her to marry him, in front of an audience that filled the observation area, a crowd of cheers, applause, and tears, Elise was stunned, trembling, unable to speak, but knew the moment was perfect. The affianced descended the Top of The Rock and into the nearest restaurant, for champagne and celebration, for the life they would live together forever.
Although 2020 did not turn out as planned, we were ready to be husband and wife. Unfortunately due to COVID restrictions, we could not celebrate this wonderful moment with our friends and family. In February of 2021, we went to the courthouse and said “I do!” It was such a magical, intimate experience that we will cherish forever. As we approach 2022, our excitement grows, we can’t wait to celebrate with you! So grab your dancing shoes, because the best has yet to come!
We can’t wait to write the next chapter with you!
