What is it?

A celebration of the groom's arrival to the wedding involving music and dancing.

Who is it for?

Traditionally, the groom's side of the wedding party joins him for his baraat and entrance where he will be welcomed by the bride's side of the family.

Depending on which side of the wedding party you are on, your start time and meeting point for the baraat will vary slightly.

If you're on the bride's side but want to join the fun, you're more than welcome to!

Is there any other information I might need?

There will be light refreshments as you enter back into the hotel so make sure to grab some water to recover from dancing outside for the baraat.

Bridesmaids
Devaki Dave
Devaki Dave
Maid of Honor

Best friend. Comedian. Dog mom & masi. Prefers ice cream in a cone. Demands only green crayons. As the actual Day 1, Devaki has been there through it all- laughs, tears, multi-day road trips, late night Taco Bell runs, playing horsey, and sharing her love of reading. An avid fan of Spanish language and Latin culture, she will help you conjugate verbs with 100% accuracy and teach you how to tango. She has endless love for all the people and 4-legged creatures in her life and is an IRL Buddy the Elf. If you want to hear someone make Seinfeldian comments on everything throughout the weekend, she’s got plenty. Non-stop laughter is a guarantee. Also she bites.

Molly Soja
Molly Soja
Maid of Honor

The bride's go-to for style and fashion advice, #1 travel companion, best dog mom to Mindy (Dood's bestie) and best dog auntie to Dood. Both new to JC, Dipali and Molly met in the lobby of their apartment building one fateful afternoon in September of 2021. Between coffee runs, taking their dogs for walks together, countless playdates, trips across the country and the globe, these two have truly been joined at the hip. Molly will be easy to spot as she will be tearing up the dance floor all weekend long. Molly keeps Dipali sane and grounded- she has the most level-head on her shoulders. All this means is that if Dipali's freaking out at any point, send Molly her way.

Neha Darji
Neha Darji
Bridesmaid

After meeting at Mohit's birthday party, Neha and Dipali have been inseparable ever since. From comedy shows, fashion shows, dinner dates, and bonding over their love of makeup they found so much in common that it felt as if they’re long lost sisters. At the wedding, you'll find Neha taking the best Instagram worthy photos for anyone who asks. (Seriously, you can trust she'll capture your best angles.)

Olivia Adams
Olivia Adams
Bridesmaid

As one of Dipali’s oldest friends, Olivia could shed some light on why Dipali is the way she…but has been sworn to secrecy. They met in dance class in high school and have grown to be as thick as thieves over the last 11 years. No matter where they were in life, they’ve always made time to be there for each other through all the ups and downs. They share an aggressive love for the Bachelor (and the spin-offs), Thai food, and dark humor. It is highly unlikely that anyone will make you laugh as hard as Olivia will. At any point during the wedding weekend, feel free to ask Olivia to reenact their dance to Nikki Minaj’s Starships.

Groomsmen
Mohit Bhatia
Mohit Bhatia
Best Man
Brother of the groom. Stylist of the bride. Favorite child. The “Player 2” to Jay’s “Player 1.” Although Mohit is the younger sibling, Jay looks up to him and models most aspects of his life (both personal and professional) after Mohit’s. From always competing against one another as kids to now always being on the same team as adults, Mohit and Jay have been through it all together and have grown incredibly close over the years.
Anil Lulla
Anil Lulla
Groomsman
DJ, crypto pseudo-celebrity, and Jay’s coolest friend. There is a very strong correlation between Jay’s social life and geographic proximity to Anil. Through all of his success, “Lulla” still remains as one of the most humble and down to earth people in Jay’s life. He is unbelievably well-connected and has an unlimited supply of cool stories to share.
Jose Mendez
Jose Mendez
Groomsman
Cabrón. Charismatic and larger than life personality. A chance meeting through a friend of a friend in college resulted in one of the strongest friendships that Jay has ever made. You would struggle to find someone who genuinely cares more about Jay’s well-being than Jose. If you have any plans on visiting the island of Puerto Rico, Jose has a wealth of knowledge on everything you need to know.
Arun Punjabi
Arun Punjabi
Groomsman
Jay’s professional advisor. Jay will not make a career move without first consulting Arun. These 2 have come a long way from ski trips, sleepovers, swimming at the Hilton Tower Center’s pool, trips to Blockbuster, and mozzarella sticks at Miami Grill. Nevertheless, if you want to discuss how the recent shifts in the macroeconomic landscape have impacted consumer spending patterns, no one will have a more well-informed perspective than Arun.
Matthew Rowack
Matthew Rowack
Groomsman
Real estate bad boy. Between the ages of 7 and 16, whenever Jay had the urge to do “hood rat stuff” with his friends, Matt is the friend that he called. While they have both recently entered their 30s and done quite a bit of growing up from their younger years, they still tend to bring out the child in one another. Don’t be surprised if you see Matt handing out business cards to guests at the wedding. The guy never stops hustling.
Jason Sumbaly
Jason Sumbaly
Groomsman
Dipali’s favorite. Dood’s favorite. Life-long passion for Snapple facts. Jay was able to make it through 3 years of living in Newark, NJ simply because he had Jason close by. These days, Jason and Jay spend most of their time together on the golf course. If you’re in the market for a new luxury car or watch, Jason will most definitely be able to point you in the right direction.
Darsh Shah
Darsh Shah
Groomsman
Networker. In the Fall of 2007, Darsh sent Jay a Facebook friend request and an invite to play a game of Jetman online. This sparked a virtual friendship. It wasn’t until one fateful day several weeks later at the local Olive Garden when the two were coincidentally each having dinner with their respective parents. After some awkward teenage eye contact, Jay decided to break the tension by walking over and saying Hi…and the rest is history. Darsh found his way into the world of Venture Capital, so If you’re looking to bring that startup company idea that you came up with in the shower into the real world, you may want to float it by Darsh before you quit your day job.
Armaan Turkhud
Armaan Turkhud
Groomsman
Jay’s first ever best friend. These two are always on the same page. Over the 25+ years that they have known one another, they haven’t had so much as a small argument. Armaan is typically the first to know whenever anything of significance happens in Jay’s life and always has great advice for him no matter the situation. If you have any questions about the latest in health supplements, staying in shape, or mortgage backed securities, Armaan will be able to answer them all.
Dhyey Vora
Dhyey Vora
Groomsman
All around great guy. One of the most genuine and caring people that you will come across. Dhyey is someone who Jay can always count on to show up when he needs help. These two are able to bond over the fact that they’re marrying Guju girls who love sleep way too much. You’ll be able to spot Dhyey as the best dancer on the dance floor at any point during the weekend.
Dood
Dood
Best Pup
Good boy. Lady's man. Will do anything for some love and affection. Knows lots of tricks. Dood has truly changed both Dipali and Jay’s lives fur the better. If you see him around during the wedding weekend, know that he plays hard to get initially, but once you win him over, he’ll love you forever.

While this weekend doesn’t require you to leave the hotel site, if you do choose to rent a car, there is both self-parking and valet. Let them know your room number and that you're there for our wedding events to receive a discounted rate.

Should I bring anything specific?

YES! But this pertains to anyone who finds themselves a bit itchy during the allergy season. As a Texas native, the bride HIGHLY suggests to bring Zyrtec, Allegra, Claritin, etc. as the pollen count this year is fairly high. Even though the events are indoors, allergies strike at any time.
