Here is a short overview of our experience of Cape Town, and Why you'll love it
Cape Town is an amazing city, offering the great outdoors with beautiful wine estates, mountains, botanical gardens, and beaches. The city is a modern colonial mash up with an old cape dutch influence. The people are laid back and the bars and restaurants are amazing! Make sure you check out our Travel section and we hope you make a holiday of it. We can't wait to experience Cape town and the Wine region with you! love Deb & Guy

Hikes
We have done a few hikes in Cape Town, there are some listed in the travel section. Our favourite hike is to climb Lions Head in the early morning around 7am to avoid the heat and crowds. You can do the whole hike in an 1.5hrs and the summit is beautiful. It is not difficult (some scrambling and climbing towards the top) and is a total must. We also recommend Chapman's Peak and Elephants Eye near by.

Bars, Food, Drinks
So many amazing spots with excellent food. We've suggested some great bars and restaurants in the travel section. Many of which we have visited, and Ben and Gabs have suggested a few too, they know their stuff! Drinks on the balcony in Camps Bay is our favourite. Any bar will do, This one featured is here, is Chinchilla, Camps Bay

Rooftop Bars!
There are many roof top bars to get great views over Cape Town, we recently went to the magnificent Silo Hotel roof top bar by UK designer Tomas Heatherwick. There is an indoor bar seen here, but if you ask for the top floor they might let you all the way up!

The Cape Town Waterfront
We love the Cape Town Waterfront, Day and Night it is buzzing, and weekends there are some amazing markets and live music. There is a variety of restaurants, one of our favourites is Harbour House. Book a table on the deck! We also really recommend walking all over the waterfront exploring the pathways and bridges before sunset and then heading for dinner.

Walks, beaches, Run
Capetownians are active, and there are many promenades and beaches to walk along or go for a run, the main beaches are Clifton and Camps Bay, with quieter beaches like the beautiful Llandudno. How about a run/walk: Starting from Seapoint's promenade you can walk/run all the way along high level road, beach road or main road, to Clifton and then Camps Bay and end at the 12 Apostles Hotel for a coffee before you uber back to Cape Town. Total distance 10km! Boom!

The Wine Region
Our wedding will on Boschendal farm in the Wine region Franschhoek. So dont visit Bosch until our wedding obviously. The wine region is a beautiful area to stay only 45 mins from Cape Town. You can do a day visit from Cape Town and get about 3 estates in a day. We have recommended some in the travel section. You can taste wine and walk on the farms, We recommend booking in advance!! You should also hire a driver so you can enjoy yourself fully.

Visiting Wine Estates
There many different estates, some are small cape dutch wine estates like this one, and large modern estates like Delaire Graff and the ultra contemporary Cavalli estate! They all offer charm and picture perfect settings, and wine tastings. Just call ahead and book a seat on a terrace. The wine is cheap, delicious and the hangover all worth it! A charming favourite is Babylonstoren, who grow all produce for their restaurant on site - have lunch there but be sure to book well in advance!

Explore outside of Cape Town
There are other smaller towns in the Western Cape. We recommended exploring the towns around Cape Town, like Simon's Town, Fish Hoek and our absolute favourite Kalk Bay - this image is of our suggested restaurant called Cape To Cuba! see the Travel section for other areas to go to.

Game Reserves in Cape Town
There are some smaller but excellent game reserves near Cape Town, such as Aquila game reserve and Buffelsfontein. Here are more: CAPE TOWN SAFARIS. SEE: the travel section of the website to contact our Travel Agent for more details
