9:00AM to 9:10AM - Ganesha Puja. Prayer to Lord Ganesha.
9:10AM to 9:15AM - Arrival of the bride, Antarapata and garland exchange.
9:15AM to 9:20AM - Kanyadanam. Father of the bride entrusts his daughter to the groom.
9:20AM to 9:30AM - Mangalya Dharane. Groom ties the 'Mangalsutra' around the bride's neck.
9:30AM to 9:35AM - Varamala. Exchange of Garlands.
9:35AM to 9:45AM - Vivaaha Homam. Sacred Fire Ceremony.
9:45AM to 9:50AM - Saptapadi. Bride and groom take seven steps together signifying their seven vows of marriage.
9:50AM to 9:55AM - Arundhati Darshanam. Couple find the Arundhati star, symbolizing their working towards common goals.
9:55AM to 10:00AM - Ashirvadam. The bride and groom take blessings from all present.

What Should I Wear?
There is no official dress code for this event. If you already have any traditional Indian outfits, please feel free to wear it on Saturday morning!
Do not feel obligated to purchase traditional attire - this is a morning ceremony at a close family friend's home, followed by breakfast. Please note that this will be an outdoor event. We'll have a tent, but we recommend flat shoes and weather-appropriate layers. Please check local weather conditions on the morning of the event.
Bus transport will be provided from Westin Washington Dulles, departing at 7:15am and 7:30am. The buses will return to the Westin after the ceremony, departing at approximately 11am.
In case you are not able to get on the bus, Uber fare is approximately $30. You may drive your own vehicles to and from this event - limited parking will be available.
Breakfast / Brunch
A vegetarian breakfast spread will be served after the ceremony, at approximately 10am.

Coffee and Aam Panna (a mango beverage) available on arrival.

Masala Chai - Indian tea flavored with spices such as cardamom and cloves.
Dhoklas and chutney - steamed gram flour and spiced relish
Dahi Vada - fried lentil fritters soaked in tangy yogurt.
Vada Pav - fried potato dumpling inside a bun, with tangy relish.
Bisibele-bath - rice, lentils and vegetables tempered with South Indian spices and nuts.
Mango Rasmalai - Indian dessert made of cheese, milk and almonds with mango flavor.

6:30PM - Cocktail hour begins. Appetizers available.
6:45PM to 7:15PM - Family/guest portraits on the ballroom stage.
7:30PM - Stefanie and Dhruv's entrance!
7:40PM to 8:00PM - Stefanie and Dhruv take center stage.
8:00PM to 8:45PM - Family and friends' performances.
8:45PM onwards - Dinner buffet opens. DJ opens the dance floor.
9:30PM to 10:00PM - Speeches and performances.
10:00PM to Close - Hit the dance floor!
Dress Code for the Sangeet
Indo-Western Cocktail Attire: A sangeet is a night for finery. You can wear traditional Indian clothes or your flashiest western (hemisphere) wedding outfit. Think colorful!
Be prepared to feast, dance, and laugh!
What Will We Eat?
This party is going to go late into the night!
You can enjoy appetizers, live food stations (including pasta) and beverages (of course!) as the night begins (around 7), followed by a buffet of traditional Indian and some American fusion-fare later on in the evening.

Sunday 8th October | Groom's Pre-Wedding Brunch
Time: 10:30AM to 12:00PM
The groom is hosting this optional gathering at Alo Vietnam to watch the India vs Australia World Cup cricket match. If you are not so keen on cricket (even though the bride is now an avid follower), you can use this morning to explore DC, plan a family activity or relax at the hotel.

3:27PM - Stefanie and Dhruv recite their vows to each other.
3:35PM - Exchange of rings and vows of commitment.
3:40PM - Officiant's concluding remarks.
3:42PM - Recessional.
4:00PM to 5:00PM - Cocktail hour.
4:00PM to 5:30PM - Wedding party portraits.

Cocktail attire
Please check local weather conditions on the morning of the event. Weather permitting, this will be an outdoor ceremony, so pack your sun protection and plan on dressy layers. We also recommend avoiding spiky heels, as some of the walking will happen on grass.

5:45PM to 6:45PM - Guests arrive at venue. Cocktails and appetizers served.

7:10PM to 7:20PM - Remarks from parents of bride and groom.
7:20PM to 7:35PM - First dances.

Getting to and from Kalypso's
Bus transport will be provided from Westin Washington Dulles, departing at 5:30pm, 6pm and 6:30pm. The bus will make multiple return trips to the Westin later in the evening, departing at approximately 8:30pm, 9pm and 10pm.
In case you are not able to get on the bus, Uber fare is approximately $15. You may drive your own vehicles to and from this event - parking will be available.
What Should I Wear?
Since the dinner party takes place right after the wedding ceremony, no wardrobe changes are needed.
The dress code for this event remains as 'Cocktail Attire', but if you are traveling right after the dinner, feel free to wear your traveling clothes.
Weather permitting, this event will be outdoors, so plan on dressy layers.
