We know many of you will be traveling from afar. Some more than others. Whatever the distance we want you to know how much we appreciate wanting to be with us on our wedding day. We hope to provide some good info on options to get here safely. Please check back soon for possible updates.
In a day and age of Google Maps, directions are easier than ever. If you will be driving from Milwaukee and Madison. Hwy 14 connects west toward Viroqua, Westby, Coon Valley, and La Crosse.
If coming from Minneapolis take 55 to exit for Red Wing 50 East which will connect with 61 along the Mississippi river road. We recommend this beautiful drive that will take you to La Crosse while going through towns like Red Wing, and Winona where you can connect with Hwy. 14 East. It's totally worth the extra 15 mibutes to get to our neighborhood.
By Air
We know many of you will be traveling by air. Where do I fly into to get to this little slice of paradise in rural Wisconsin you might ask?
The larger airports to fly into would be either Milwaukee (MKE) and Minneapolis (MSP). Either are about a 3 1/2 hour drive to the Driftless area and our wedding location. Otherwise connecting flights are an option to Madison or to LaCrosse. Each have closer, smaller airports to arrive. Madison is a 2 hour drive, and LaCrosse approximately 30 minutes to our location.
I’ve been a fan of the cheaper prices and quality service of Southwest.com that I’ve experienced for travel to major domestic airports. They often are not listed on other travel sites. Connect to them directly.
Below are the airports in the area. You can find info here also on lodging, and car rentals.
La Crosse(LSE) is the closest to our location https://www.lseairport.com
Madison(MSN) is the next closest to our location www.msnairport.com
Minneapolis(MSP) www.mspairport.com
Milwaukee(MKE) www.mitchellairport.com
We appreciate you and your efforts for making the journey to be with us.
By Motor Vehicle
To get to Norskedalen (our wedding/celebration location) from Minneapolis we prefer the US 61 S route via Minneapolis. It’s only 15 minutes longer than the US 52 to I 90 E route. The US 61 route takes you along the Mississippi River route through towns such as Red Wing and Winona. It show cases the beauty of the area we live. https://www.google.com/maps/dir/Minneapolis−Saint+Paul+International+Airport,+Minnesota/Norskedalen+Nature+%26+Heritage+Center,+Inc.,+N455+O+Ophus+Rd,+Coon+Valley,+WI+54623/@44.3121641,-92.645181,9z/data=!4m14!4m13!1m5!1m1!1s0x87f62f2a85c06a07:0x2bd3d37c78783591!2m2!1d-93.2222846!2d44.8847554!1m5!1m1!1s0x87fc1c246853f1f5:0xe840159f9215af13!2m2!1d-90.9888755!2d43.7375736!5i1
