Marie Garber
Grandmother of the Bride
Marie has been Karen’s guiding hand, biggest support, and closest confidant. Karen said, “I wouldn’t have anyone else beside me for the best day of my life.”
Robert “Barney" Barnwell
Friend/brother/colleague

Barney and I met in 2006. We were both hired within months of each other to work full time for the Run Crew department at The Guthrie Theater in Minneapolis. Shenanigans soon ensued along with a lifelong friendship.  Barney was married to his lovely wife Stephanie 2 years ago. It was an honor to stand up for him as a part of his wedding party. So naturally, when it came to wedding advice, he had it still pretty fresh on his mind.                                                                                Barney has been there for me every step of the way to some degree ever since we met, for over 12 years now. I’m grateful for him always being willing to listen, giving a call to check up on me, lend advice, being there when I needed a friend most, and redefining fun with him. I’m honored that Barney has accepted to stand by my side through thick and thin. It is with much admiration and respect I have for him. Barney represents not only the truest of friendship and brotherhood, yet he also stands with me for the friends I’ve been able to maintain contact with, and that I continue to grow in admiration for. Those who have been there off and on throughout my life from grade school, to high school, through college, into “adulthood”.  I feel very blessed and am very grateful for Barney and their presence in my life. Thank you brothers.

Jan Schuler
Mom of the Groom
Not only would I not be here without her. My Mom is a true blessing in every sense of the word. Her goodness, her love, her guidance, and her infinite support. She still writes me me notes of love and encouragement just as she did when she left notes for me in the lunches she would make for me all throughout school. Yes, even high school. She has nurtured and never given up on helping to live an honest life in faith with Jesus and God and is always in search of how to be of service to others and God.  There are no amount of words for how grateful I am for her. Thank you Mom. We love you very much!!
Fred Schuler
Father of the Groom

Not only had Fred introduced me to the concept of patience and making good choices. He has been an example to live by for me. His strong faith and service to Christ and our families here in the US and Guatemala, and his continuous wisdom. I am grateful to have been able to make four trips with Fred to Guatemala where we have developed family and friends through service of building a church for Pastor Claudio and the congregation of El Buen Pastor as well as distribute and assemble efficient wood burning stoves for the families in and around Patzun. This photo we had installed the 100th stove into a Guatemalan home of need. I am so grateful to have Fred by my side. Thank you completely Fred. We love you very much!!

Thomas Higgins
Dad of the Groom
Not only would I not be here without my dad Tom. I am very grateful for the many things he has done for me. Yet the single biggest thing that has been one of the biggest gifts of my life is introducing me to music. It means so much to have him be a part of this day. There aren’t enough words to thank you Dad. We love you very much!!
Jake Mischel
Karen’s Dad
