The wedding reception is located in Hilo, Hawaiʻi (Hilo International Airport, Big Island). The Hilo airport code is "ITO".
There is also an airport in Kona (Ellison Onizuka Kona International Airport, Big Island), coded "KOA". Driving from KOA to ITO usually takes 1.5-2 hours depending on the route.
If traveling from the mainland, it is usually most economical to look at flights into Honolulu, O'ahu and then take a short flight to either Kona or Hilo. The Honolulu International Airport (also called Daniel K. Inouye Airport) is coded "HNL".
Please remember that Hawaiʻi is made up of several islands, so triple-check your accommodations and flight itineraries to ensure you made the correct reservations.
If you are flying from the continental U.S., almost all major airlines fly to Daniel K. Inouye Airport (HNL). There are, however, limited airline options for inter-island flights. We recommend looking at Southwest Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines for flights to the Hilo (ITO) or Kona (KOA) airports.
If you are looking to fly straight into Hilo from the continental U.S., Southwest, Hawaiian, and United Airlines fly into this airport. Alaska, American, Delta, Hawaiian, United, Westjet, and Southwest Airlines all fly into Kona.
Alamo, Avis, Budget, Dollar, Enterprise, Hertz, National, and Thrifty all have rental vehicle offices at the Hilo and Kona airports. Honolulu's airport has all of these companies along with Payless and Sixt. Turo is also a car rental option in both islands.
You can use Ride Share apps, and there are taxis at all airports. You will have to check directly with your hotel about available shuttle service.
If you have a Costco membership, look into booking through Costco's site as you can often find cheaper rates and receive a free upgrade.
Last- please remember that our family and I will be incredibly busy preparing for this event as we are decorating and cooking for the wedding. We will not be able to take people to and from places or host anyone in our home. If you cannot find the information you need on this site, please reach out to Kaopua or David directly with questions (preferably long before you arrive in Hawaiʻi).
