Coffee or Tea

We first met online at BlackPeopleMeet.com. It was Sunday night, September 7, 2014. It’s hard to recall exactly what we said, but it must have been somewhat interesting because the very next afternoon, Doug invited me for coffee. I don't think I told him I HATE COFFEE. It's kind of like going to a seafood restaurant and you don't even like seafood. There is always chicken, or "tea" in my case. Actually, I ordered peach tea. Doug was kind enough to ask if I wanted a refill. He went to get it for me and (he says) he could feel me watching his "buns" as he walked away. Actually, I'm still looking for them, but that's our little joke. That was Monday, September 8, 2014 and honestly, we have been together ever since.

Doug has been there for me and my girls from day one. A few months after we met, I fell in the house and broke my ankle. I remember that one of my first thoughts was to tell my children (Dez, MeMe & Jeff) to call Doug. It seems like he was there in 2 minutes. And he has been there ever since. You see, I have found a real-life Cowboy!! And we are riding off into the sunset on August 3, 2019! Please come and join us!!

I knew that Doug was a man I should give serious consideration to...

when in October of 2014, he asked me to travel with him to Cleveland, Ohio. He needed to go there to escort his daughter for Senior Night at her High School. Lauren (my first time meeting her), was a Majorette and would be presented on Senior Night on the football field accompanied by her parent. Doug and I drove 6 hours and made it there about 20 minutes before the presentation which happened before the start of the game. I was introduced to his beautiful daughter as the families where lining up for the procession onto the field. While trying to go and sit in the bleachers, both Doug AND Lauren insisted that I process in with them. Lauren was introduced accompanied by her father, Douglas Perkins and we quickly left the field. Lauren returned to her duties as a majorette and within 15 minutes, Doug & I were eating dinner at Buffalo Wild Wings. I don't even think we stayed for the kick-off. All of this to say, a man, a dad, who would drive 6 hours to simply escort his baby girl onto the field for Senior Night, might be a man my heart could grow to love. That day, I witnessed his unselfish and unconditional love for "his pride and joy", Lauren. And for almost 5 years, I have been the beneficiary of his unselfish and unconditional love for me and my family. Douglas Wayne Perkins, you are an amazing man and I look forward to spending the rest of my our days TOGETHER!!!

I met Dee almost 5 years ago. We converse and enjoy each other's company like boyfriend/girlfirend, husband/wife, father/daughter, mother/son, brother/sister.  I have been looking for someone to share my life with for 27 years, and I finally found her.   I'm a cowboy and I don't have much else to say. Thank you , partner.
