In December 2019, Danielle and Mike matched online and the rest was history! Just kidding, it wasn't that simple. They didn't go on their first date until a few weeks later because Mike cancelled twice and then Danielle cancelled the third time just to get back at him.
Usually at this point both Danielle and Mike would move on but luckily they didn't. They met for drinks after work on a Thursday night just a few blocks away from each of their offices. For two people very tired of dating, both were surprised at how immediately comfortable they were with each other and how quickly the time went by, which was extremely rare for both of them. They also couldn't believe how much they had in common and how their paths had never crossed (they were a Jewish girl from Brookline and a Jewish boy from Newton after all). It was clear there was going to be another date. Mike even messaged Danielle later that evening to make sure she got home safe.

The relationship moved fast from the start, although Mike eased Danielle into his eating habits to not scare her away too quickly. By the time Corona shut down the world in March, they had already met each others parents and found themselves spending most of their free time together. With the quarantine, Danielle and Mike spent little to no time apart and their relationship and feelings only grew stronger. Next thing you know, they had a new puppy (due to MIke's impatience) and were living together.

With the hopes Corona wouldn't last too long, Danielle and Mike booked a vacation to Hawaii for September. As they grew closer, Mike decided he was going to propose there...potentially twice (think of the free stuff/upgrades at each hotel they would get if they were engaged there). But Corona had other plans and eventually they had to cancel the trip.
This created a dilemma for Mike of how he was going to now propose. To try to ease the sting of having to cancel an incredible trip, Mike suggested a long weekend away. They decided to go to Newport and Mike went about booking an incredible weekended away for the two of them.
They arrived at The Chandler in Newport on August 12th and when they walked into their room Danielle was surprised by the most beautiful bouquet of flowers, a note that said "Let's not wait any longer, will you marry me?" and Mike down on one knee with a ring in his hand.
