Welcome to The Republic of Bulgaria! It is quite a distance away and we highly recommend getting in touch with the Bride & Groom before booking your flights if you need tips and ideas beyond what is below.
Most of you will find the best flights into Sofia, Sofia to Varna offers 3 daily connection flights, short in distance and very affordable. You will be able to arrange airport pick up in Varna from the Venue - Black Sea Rama.
Varna is the nearest airport to the venue. About a 1 hour drive. Transportation can be arrange by the hotel when you book your room.
Burgas is also an option for flying and is approximately 2-3 hours away from Varna/Balchik and Thracian Cliffs. This is a good option if you are looking to explore the Bulgarian Coast Line and one of the biggest towns in Bulgaria.
Sofia is another option for travel and will have the most flight options available. Traveling to Sofia would require car rental or alternative transportation to the venue. Sofia to Varna/Balchik is about 6-7 hours of driving.
Traveling from the US:
Tampa - you can get a direct flight from TPA to several locations within Europe; explore Europe and fly to Varna/Sofia from there. You can also get a direct flight to London from TPA with British Airways or Virgin Atlantic. From London (Gatwick and Heathrow) you can fly directly to Varna via Bulgaria Airlines - you will need to book on Bulgaria Airlines own website. Prices will be in Bulgarian own currency (Lev), don't be alarmed!
DC - there are multiple airlines that fly directly to Europe. You will not be able to find a direct flight to Bulgaria.
NYC - you will be able to get a direct flight to Sofia from NYC with multiple airlines.
Miami - Turkish Airlines will get you to Varna with one stop in Istanbul - worth exploring also!
You will most likely be able to find a good flight to the capital of Bulgaria - Sofia. From there you could either drive (5 hours drive to Black Sea Rama) or you could fly internally to Varna. Bulgaria Air offers 3 short and direct flights from Sofia to Varna for 50-60 USD and under 45 minutes.
