Please Log inAspen Mountain Nature Walk
Come join us at the base of the Silver Queen Gondola for a ride up to the top of Ajax Mountain. We will be going on a short nature walk at 11,212 feet to enjoy the spectacular views. If you would like to, you may also grab a drink or a bite to eat at the Sundeck - the mountain-top restaurant with panoramic views of the landscape.
Tickets may be purchased in advance online or when in town at the Aspen Mountain Ticket Office. They are $33 for a single day pass.
Silver Queen Gondola
Meet at the gondola base at 11AM (see picture - we will be at the bottom of the steps!)
Casual and Comfortable Clothing
We recommend wearing a warm outer layer for the hike as temperatures at the top of the mountain are significantly cooler than at the base. Wear comfortable athletic shoes - and know that hiking shoes are not required for this easy nature trail but terrain is rocky in places.
Rehearsal Dinner After Party at Tempranillo’s
We are pleased to welcome you to our rehearsal dinner after party on the night before our wedding.
Please note that a transport van will be shuttling between Aspen and Basalt for those without cars and transport information has been provided over email.
4:30 PM: Arrival to Aspen Meadows
Plan to start arriving to Aspen Meadows by 4:30 PM so you can have your transportation drop you off (or park) and have enough time to walk to the meadow. When you arrive at Aspen Meadows Resort's main entrance (address provided), there will be someone there to direct you to the ceremony site.
Plan for a 10 minute walk once you arrive to get to the ceremony site.
5:30PM - Cocktail Hour
Immediately after the ceremony you will be directed down a walking path to the Doerr-Hosier Center at Aspen Meadows Resort. Feel free to take pictures at sunset on the beautiful grounds of the resort while you sip on a cocktail or glass of wine.
7:00PM - Dinner & Dancing
Following the cocktail hour we will move inside to the ballroom in the Doerr-Hosier Center for a plated dinner, toasts, and dancing later that evening. Make sure to bring your dancing shoes!
Black Tie Preferred
Women: Long elegant gown is preferred, or mid-length formal dress. Note that there is a very short, flat, paved walk to and from the ceremony site. The ceremony is on a manicured lawn, so please take precautions when choosing footwear. Note: bridesmaids are wearing Dark Emerald Green dresses - in case you want to avoid matching!
Men: Tuxedos are preferred, and dark formal suits with a dark ties are also acceptable.
Weather: While early October is still quite warm most places, Mountain weather is a little different. Be prepared for full-on Autumn temperatures and for it to be pleasant during the peak of the day, but chilly in the mornings, early afternoons, and evenings.
October temperatures range from 40 F to 65 F depending on the time of day. Sometimes it's sunny, and sometimes we get a light dusting of snow!
It is best to be prepared for multiple weather scenarios and we highly suggest to bring a coat, or a very warm shawl! There will also be a place to put heavier items if the weather calls for it.
