I had decided to work another Winter Season in Aspen, Colorado. I had no idea it was going to be the best decision I ever made. Within a few days, my life would be forever changed because it was when I met Christine, the girl next door.

It was the winter of 2012/2013 and our first official date was at the Aspen Animal Shelter. We volunteered to walk and play with the shelter dogs. This quickly turned into our regular weekly outings where we spent our time bonding over our love for dogs and travel.

I have never been more sure of anything in my life: wanting to marry my best friend and favorite person. At the same time, it was the most nerve-racking experience. But, after asking Christine to take my hand in marriage, it was all worth it when she said YES!

Tyler walked me down to Oneloa Beach on the west side of Maui. We sat down inside a little beach cove overlooking the waves. Tyler took out his new ukulele and completely surprised me (having no previous playing experience) by serenading, "Can't Help Falling in Love." When the song was over, he turned around and his ukulele was replaced by a little box... with a ring in it!
