Almost a decade ago we met as a couple of kids trying to join the Bhangra team at Ohio State! After several awkward encounters and an infamous first date, we both realized that we had found someone special. While our lives changed rapidly as we grew up together, our relationship always remained an incredible constant in our lives.
After we graduated, Nimit moved to Seattle to start a new job at Microsoft while Chandni attended nursing school in Columbus. Long distance was difficult, but we tried our best to make do with whatever time we could spend together. Despite the challenges, we were still able to reach so many milestones together: graduating, starting new jobs, and meeting our families!
After working in the ICU and getting an admission to UPenn's Nurse Practitioner Program, Chandni was prepared to move to Philly. We both thought this would be a perfect opportunity to end our long distance relationship and finally live together! We were so excited to explore a new city together and take a much anticipated next step in our relationship.
With our 8 year anniversary coming up, Nimit decided that it was the perfect opportunity to propose! So every night for two months while Chandni was sleeping, Nimit and both families worked on a plan to surprise her in Italy. At first she thought it was just a relaxing Spring Break abroad, but once we got to the beach in Positano, she started to finally put the pieces together. As the sun was setting, Nimit finally got down on one knee and proposed and Chandni said yes! When she looked up she was even more shocked to see both families running towards her. After hugs, tears, and laughter, all 8 of us got a chance to spend a beautiful week in paradise celebrating the start of our life together!
After Chandni graduated from NP school, we moved to San Francisco for Nimit's new job at Roblox. It has been a hectic year with moving, traveling, wedding planning, working, and studying for boards but we've been so happy to get a chance to write each new page of our story together every day!
