Catiah & Antoine

Antoine and Catiah are world travelers and adventurers. They met in Shanghai while Antoine was obtaining a business degree from HULT and contemplated his path as an entrepreneur.

Catiah moved to Shanghai to live out her dreams of becoming a successful creative director/Peggy Olson. Her job was to inspire a new generation of nonactive Chinese locals to throw money at American Sports products they didn’t need.

November 2013 They met on the internet. He was handsome and French. She was curious and daring. When they met in person, he was in the process of nursing a sick Chamelon name Rango back to health. At that exact moment, Catiah decided his house was safe to crash in while she looked for an apartment. They got to know each other over that weekend. Unfortunately, the Chameleon died shortly after.

2015 Unsure of where their lives were going, they both dated on and off. After many dinners, adventures, and misadventures in and out of Shanghai bars, parties, and fancy get-togethers, Antoine asked Catiah to move into his Huangpu penthouse Shanghai. She agreed as the city was big, and the long commute to see Antoine everyday was draining.

2015 Catiah decided she wanted to become an entrepreneur. She founded an organic coffee company linking the tribal regions of Yunnan to Shanghai. Her unique coffee products supplied the likes of Jackie Chan, popular co-working spaces, and fancy cafes around town. Throughout this turbulent journey, Antoine had acted as her business mentor and guide, providing a shoulder to cry on for all the deals ever gone wrong, and fabulous Sunday brunches for all the deals gone right.

Together, Catiah and Antoine discovered people and places in Yunnan full of intrigue and beauty, adopted Tibetan families, and befriended their yaks. The two participated in Thangka drawing sessions and meditated on the deeper truths of life.

In 2017 February 19th, they rescued a fluffy Samoyed dog, which no one knew the actual age of, but Catiah claimed she was three to everyone who inquired. Her name was Muntzu, named after the glorious island King Bjorn discovered on his Viking missions. They both took care of Muntzu and created many doggy away trips together.

October 19th, 2017 Antoine surprised Catiah with a trip to 3000m above sea level, Shangrila Yunnan, there he proposed to her in the home of Constantin De Slizewicz, one of Catiah’s favorite French Mountaineer explorer and esteemed National Geographic author on Tibetan natives.

Together with Constantin and Bubu, they partied the night away, marinated in whiskey and cigars until the AM, just in time to feed the pigs. Catiah, in her delirious drunken visions, saw the Mahakala, the renowned Tibetan Buddhist protector.

2019 Antoine and Catiah got married on paper at the Shanghai Municipal Marriage Counsel just a week before China decided to never marry two foreigners in their country. In true Communist fashion, the marriage was officiated by the guard and administrations girl, who also doubled up as the photographer and witness.

The pair decided, after six years of living in Shanghai, it was time to move out of China. Antoine’s business was going well, and Dubai was where his clients resided. Together, they wrapped up the Shanghai chapter and found their way to the UAE in hopes of discovering more of the Middle East.
