Cass and Brendon met in college. They were just friends back then, but Brendon says it was love at first sight when he saw Cass, his freshman orientation leader. Cass was in the A.O.E. sorority and Brendon joined the SIG fraternity. One day, Cass ironically decided that Brendon would be the perfect boyfriend and deemed him 'Boyfriend' from that moment forward. To this day, Cass only calls him Boyfriend and is unsure she can change that now.
Brendon also met Cass's brother, Conor, when he came to visit Cass her senior year for SIG's Annual Cowboy Party. They became good friends and stayed in-touch well after Cass graduated. Brendon even visited Conor at UNL for a couple of Cornhusker games.
Fast forward to 2019, Conor mentioned that Brendon was now living in Omaha, NE and that we should invite him to the annual Tomac 4th of July weekend at the lake. Long story short, he accepted the invitation and in that weekend Cass and Brendon fell back into their friendship as if no time had passed.
Cass was living in Milwaukee, WI at the time, but had already interviewed for a job in Omaha in order to move closer to family. She ended up moving only 2 months after the 4th of July. Brendon said he didn't want to be friends anymore.... he wanted to be Cass's 'real' boyfriend. Brendon and Cass decided to not waste any more time and quickly moved in together, got a puppy, bought a home gym, and a house. The rest is history!
