Wedding Update

Hello family and friends!

As our wedding date gets closer, June 19th 2021, we want to provide some important details regarding traveling to Belize and what current COVID restrictions are there.

Traveling To Belize City (BZE) – You are required to take a PCR test within 72 hours of travel. If you choose to take a rapid test, it must be done within 48 hours of travel. The rapid tests Belize currently accepts are Sofia, SD Biosensor and Abbott (Panbio). If you don’t have a negative test you will be forced to pay for one upon arriving in Belize. We recommend taking a rapid test from your nearest urgent care/Walgreens/CVS 40-48 hours before travel. Some of these tests have shown false positives. This gives time to be able to take a 2nd rapid test in order to get the required negative test to make into Belize. Please check out the link to Belize Tourism Board for all of the latest COVID updates. Belize Tourism Board Website

Traveling from Belize back to US – You are required to get tested no more than 3 days before you travel by air into the United States. Again, we recommend taking a rapid test 40-48 hours before traveling home. Some of these tests have shown false positives. This gives time to be able to take a 2nd rapid test in order to get the required negative test to make it home. There are multiple testing sites on the island and another testing site at Belize City (BZE) airport. Many Gold Standard hotels are arranging testing for their guests, make sure to ask when you book your reservation. Please check out CDC website for all of the latest updates to make it back into US. CDC International Travel Requirements

Hotels – All Hotel/Airbnb reservations need to be booked at a Gold Standard Hotel. Here is the list of Gold Standard Hotels, there are tons of options on San Pedro. Our wedding planner mentioned that Belize is really doing anything they can to increase their tourism right now so she recommended calling/emailing any hotels/airbnb’s directly and trying to negotiate the price. Many places are giving 30-40% off internet prices. Since San Pedro is a much larger island, the main mode of transportation is usually golf carts. So as long as we are all within a few miles of each other it’s very easy to get around. (Map of wedding venue on venue and accomodations page)

Hope all of you are staying healthy and we are beyond excited to have you in Belize with us come June!  If you have any questions don't hesitate to reach out to us directly.

Why Belize

Belize's charm is difficult to describe but easily experienced. We were instantly drawn to the uniqueness and motto of life - "Go Slow". The island vibe and Hispanic influence is the perfect mix of cultures and something we are excited for everyone to experience. The island of Ambergris Caye is where the city of San Pedro is and this island is much larger than our initial island. It is an island life-style that is predicated upon ocean activities, beautiful sunsets and diverse food. With so much to offer we are very excited to share this local and adventurous island with our closest family and friends.
