After two swipes right, a few week's worth of effortless banter, and two cancelled dates (those are on me, and, yes, I still hear about it), Brandon and I met during the 2016 MLB playoffs. Go Cubbies!
Fast forward to 4/13/19, and I am officially a future Moderhack :)

Now please prepare yourself for Brandon's version of the story....
"After a storied career on Houston's classiest social media dating app, I swiped right on a blonde with a strange name and a beautiful german shepherd in her profile picture. It was then that "K-sizzle", as my roommate at the time called her, and I first started talking. After a few weeks of communicating almost exclusively in 90's-2000's song lyrics, I asked her if she'd like to sit with me while I watched the Cubs game two of the NLCS in 2016. Shockingly, she agreed, until the day of, when she un-agreed, and remembered she had to go to a friend's birthday party instead (cough: strike one). However, she apologized, and we set plans to have some alcoholic beverages a few days later...annnnd then she promptly cancelled them again a few hours before she was supposed to show up #striketwo. She begged forgiveness from both me and the baseball gods, and I decided to give her a third chance to woo me. Game five of the NLCS with the cubs down 2-1 and playing in LA against the Dodgers, we decided to give it another go. My anxiety was through the roof...for the game. I figured Ksuysha was just going to cancel again so I wasn't super concerned about our date. To everyone's astonishment she showed up. To no one's astonishment, she was 20 minutes late. The Cubs did us a favor and blew out the Dodgers, so we actually did talk during the date. And I swear I listened when she talked! (ish) While I could tell she was nervous, and a little shy during the date, she would come up with witty one liners from time to time that showed me what an amazing sense of humor she had. From then on she's had me wrapped around her pretty little finger guns."
