Not going to make this long: it was a summer afternoon and I was looking myself (dashingly handsome). Me and couple friends were chillin' outside and some girl pulled up in red cobalt. She was looking hard so I decided to say hello. She told me I was so fine that she felt like I was walking in slow motion like a movie. I never got her name but I started to see her around at a few parties I was throwing. I asked a friend to get her name and number for me, we became friends and the rest is history.

It was a random summer day and my friend invited me to a day time party for our classmate Bobby. When I pulled into the apartment complex, everyone was outside and the music was blasting. All my friends were huddled in a circle, laughing and giggling at the guy in the middle. I was super confused because the guy in the middle was walking in slow motion! Nothing else was in slow motion, just him. It looked like a movie: a handsome guy with his shirt off walking in the middle of a crowd, busting out a really cute smile for the camera. I walked over to the crowd and the guy breaks out of his slow motion into a dance. I found out later that it was a dance called "the movie walk" that the guys had made up and were showing it off. I thought it was hilarious!
It turns out the guy moving in slow motion was Bobby but he was NOT the classmate I thought. The Bobby that I knew was actually his cousin and they were named after the same person in their family!
That day we partied and got to know each other a little bit. We kept seeing each other at different places after that so we struck up a friendship (and sort of a summer fling). The rest is history!

After a year of COVID, I still wanted to celebrate my birthday. We decided to do a small karaoke party at a hall that we rented. I was super excited to see the small number of people that told me they could make it plus Bobby was doing all the work! He told me to stay home and relax the whole day and he would arrange everything. He also had a surprise for me.
When we headed to get the surprise on the way to the party, he blindfolded me and walked me somewhere. When I took off my blindfold, it was a big group of my family and friends, including those that flew in from all over to celebrate with me! I was so ecstatic and started hugging everyone. Bobby told me that since we missed my graduation due to COVID, he wanted to make this special for me. I was overwhelmed with happiness and started crying!
After the group sang happy birthday to me, Bobby volunteered to do the first karaoke song. Everyone, including me, took out their phones to record. He didn't start off with his usual karaoke song choices (something from Usher). In fact, I didn't know what he was singing. I was thinking it was a new song that he wrote and it sounded beautiful! It was about love and then he started singing to me! It hit me that this could be the moment I had been dreaming about so I tried to calm myself. In the most beautiful voice, I heard "will you give me a chance and marry me?" I was so shocked and he got down on one knee with the most beautiful ring I had every seen! Of course, with no hesitation, it was a YES!!
