Janie & Chris

Meet Chris (he's the cute one struggling with his backpack).

Chris loves the Florida Gators, gaming with his friends, and walking around the house pretending to swing a golf club. At the time of writing, Chris is an associate at a large law firm in Washington, D.C. One day, he hopes to achieve his lifelong dream of being a stay-at-home dog dad.

Meet Janie. 

Obsessed with her dog, croquetas, morning runs, and watching terrible movies.  Will obnoxiously (and loudly) sing Celia Cruz songs without knowing the words and will judge you hard if your mac & cheese isn't saucy enough.     

The Meet Cute. 

Janie and Chris met at a UF Model United Nations (MUN) Thanksgiving potluck in 2012, This was Janie's first MUN social event, and Chris was the organizer. After everyone was sufficiently stuffed on turkey and sides, the group went to the midnight premiere of the twenty-third James Bond film, Skyfall.  As Janie prepared herself to not fall asleep, Chris — based on an earlier conversation that he was not involved in — used the classic pick-up line:

"You like to cycle? Are you training for the Olympics or something?"

Janie was so impressed by the line that she agreed to go on a coffee date with Chris...four months later.

And that was the start of an ongoing journey filled with Gator football games, six years in Washington, DC, new professional challenges, law school, travel, countless times falling asleep in the middle of movies, and raising what many have called the best dog ever.

December 1, 2019.  After decorating the tree, Chris decided there was one more ornament to put on the tree.  A little "Merry" ornament with a big question on the other side.  Even the Dog of Honor made an appearance.
