Bindi's Story:

The people that know Jigar know that he truly goes above and beyond for just about anything. Our proposal was no different. The thought and detail he put into every aspect of our proposal was like nothing I would have ever imagined, and all in two weeks! It started off with him asking me to go to Dallas for a mutual friends engagement party but I was in residency during this time and didn't know if I'd be able to make it. He was persistent and told me to come even if it was for only the day of the "engagement".  Then, he got my sister's involved to tell me that we would be going on a mini family trip that weekend to Dallas and it would work perfectly since I would already be there. Fast forward to that weekend, we landed late Friday night and planned to go to the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Gardens the next morning. I get to the the place and walk in and right there I see a couple of my favorite people. I was so confused and didn't think that I was in reality. I got a letter and and a memorable box from these people and that's when I knew I was getting proposed to. In the letter, it said to go back to the car and change- and boy, was he prepared as he knows I am picky with my clothes, he made sure I had over 5 outfits to choose from. After that, our photographer (shoutout to Lindsey!) took me to each destination in the arboretum where there were a group of friends with a letter and an item that meant something to us. The last stop was in a little garden and Jigar was waiting for me to give me the final letter. Then her got down on one knee and proposed! I said YES!

Jigar's Story:

After 6 years of dating I knew that it was finally time to ask the question and settle down with Bindi. However, this does not come easy because as people know, I tend to drag and plan things last minute and this was something that had to be well-executed and a surprise. Bindi somehow always finds out about everything even though I try to keep them secret. No idea how she does it but she does. So, I had to make sure I did everything opposite of what I normally would do to keep her off her tracks. Bindi texted me in January that she wanted to go on a trip when she had some time off from her residency. Her teacher was supposed to be out of the office for the latter part of the second week of February. This is when I knew this was the perfect time to propose because I could bring the whole family along to the proposal. So, I went along with it and then tried to recommend vacation places that were warm and had nice places to propose. We ended up deciding Dallas since our friends live there and I could tell her we were going there for an engagement ceremony. I knew that when I asked her to marry me that I wanted our closest friends and family to be present. I decided to plan a mini-map in which each stop would have a group of our friends and they would hand her a mini present and a card with a memory of us. I kept that thought of ideas in my head and decided to invite all our family and friends and let them know which date I was going to pop the question. Once that was done, of course, the week prior she found out that her preceptor would still be coming into work, which meant that she would not be able to come. Thankfully, she was able to work it out with her preceptor and we were able to fly to Dallas on Friday night. Once we made it to Dallas I took a different flight than her so she spent the night with her sisters at the hotel while I stayed at my friend's place in Dallas. That night I got our friends together and made a trip to Walmart at 3 AM to buy card stock and gifts so that I could write her notes as I planned out two weeks ago. I finally finished up and had everything ready to go for the Dallas Arboretum at about 6 AM the morning of the proposal. I believe we slept about an hour or so before our alarms started to go off to wake up. I got myself dressed up and headed off to the site. Once I arrived, I placed all of our friends and family in groups and put them in their locations throughout the arboretum. Thankfully, I was by myself at my last spot because I was a nervous wreck. I was pacing back and forth practicing the note I wrote out so that I would not be crying while reading it to her. When she finally got to me all beautiful and dressed up and I started crying while reading the note anyways so the practice didn't help much. After reading her the letter I got down and one knee and asked her to marry me. SHE SAID YES!
