Contrary to what most think, KU was not the meet-cute responsible for kicking off our love story. Sure, our jobs are what brought us to the same town but it was the dating app Bumble that truly brought us together. We swiped. We matched. We met. And we fell in love.

I knew on the second date! We were having a conversation about the areas that God had revealed to us that needed the most work and/or faith to be added. It was through those moments that I knew. The icing on the cake was when one night, Karyla was driving out to stay at her family's house because she had an interview the next day to become eligible for Global Entry (TSA Precheck). As she got to her family's home, she realized that she forgot her passport. She then texted me asking if I could bring her the passport... mind you, it was past 8:00pm and I had to get up for work at 3:30am the next day, and I had never been to her family's house before. On top of that, I would have to drive an hour to her, and an hour back... but I couldn't say, "yes," fast enough. I took my time driving there and back, and I had the biggest smile on my sleep deprived face the next day!

It didn't take long for me to know that D'Anthony was my forever love. Truthfully, I suspected it in the middle of our first date when I had to pause it to run home for my landlord real quick. I was driving like a bat out of hell to get back to that restaurant before he could leave thinking I wasn't coming back. In that moment it was too scary of a thought to truly believe that I knew so early on, which is why I said I suspected it; but it was undeniably a known fact for me on our second date. Him and I spent a few hours in Kansas City before having a night cap at a local bar in Lawrence where we spent another hour or so just sitting at the bar talking. At one point I caught myself absolutely swooning over him while dazing into his eyes as he talked. I literally had to tell myself to "snap out of it Ry" because "there's no way you're staring at this man all in love like this already" (haha) But I 1000% was.
