Passport:
For travel to South Africa you are required to have 3 consecutive blank pages in your passport and also ensure that you passport is valid for 6 months after your return from South Africa.

South African has 11 official languages however English is spoken by almost the entire population.
Time Zone:
The zone is two hours ahead of UTC (UTC+02:00) and is the same as Central African time.
It would be advisable to have Travel insurance and Medical insurance when visiting South Africa.
Transport is easily available:
You can take a train from OR Tambo International Airport to Rosebank via OR Tambo Airport and Sandton in around 33 min.
You could rent a car if you possess a valid International Driver’s License, hire a hotel-approved service, or use Uber (not BOLT or Taxify).
Weather:
In December, South Africa’s average maximum temperature of 32°C (89.6°F). In Johannesburg and Cape Town, temperatures range between 14°C (57.2°F) to 26°C (78.8°F).
Currency:
The official currency of South Africa is the Rand, and its nomenclature is ZAR.
Telecoms/Internet Telecoms:
Mobile phone coverage is extensive and easy to access. WiFi is available in hotels, malls, restaurants and most guesthouses and B&Bs. Reception and internet speeds are great in major cities and towns, but less so in more remote areas. A local SIM card from one of the key telecommunications companies, Vodacom, MTN, Cell C, or Telkom, can be bought at the airport on arrival. Don’t buy a SIM card from a street seller. Always buy one in store at a kiosk, supermarket or one of the official outlets.
Socket Type:
In South Africa, the standard voltage is 230 V with a frequency of 50 Hz. The plugs and sockets are D/M type, so the need for an adapter will depend on the voltage and plugs in your country of residence.
