Where to even begin,
Ashley and Ethan both attended Colorado State University, where they happened to live across the street from one another. Ashley lived in ZETA, her sorority house, and Ethan lived in the fraternity house PKP, right across the street. Ashley and Ethan had mutual friends and would run into each other at social events.As time went on, Ethan ultimately ended up in Arizona for his career in Advertising. Ashley’s parents moved to AZ in 2016 and she came back to stay with them while she was doing a physical therapy rotation for school at Banner Children's hospital.
Their mutual Friend Taylor Sundermeyer had posted a picture around New years of 2016. Ethan had commented on the photo and Ashley messaged him, inviting Ethan to hangout. They never ended up meeting for NYE, but Ethan was persistent and would not let Ashley play games with him. Time passed and It took many text messages to get Ashley to respond (if you know her she is a HORRIBLE texter). She finally decided to meet up with Ethan! Ashley had no idea they were going on a date, she thought it was just a friendly meet-up since she was new to town, but Ethan had a different idea.
Ashley spent January-April of 2017 getting to know Ethan before she left back to physical therapy school. Before she left back to Oregon, Ethan insisted on buying a flight to visit Ashley in Oregon. Of course, Ashey said “no” but Ethan didn’t take no for an answer. He ended up coming to Oregon numerous times; exploring, hiking, going to wineries/Portland eateries, and of course getting the stamp of approval from some of Ashley’s closest friends from school. It only took 9 months for them to make it “official” in Ashley’s eyes.
They did long-distance for 1.5 years and then Ashley decided to move to Arizona to start her career. A few months later Ethan had decided Law School was his next step. In the summer of 2018, Ethan moved to Iowa to start Law school at Drake University. They planned on 2 more years of long-distance but because of the pandemic, he was able to do his 2nd and 3rd year online in Arizona.Ethan just graduated from Law school in May of 2021 and both of them are ecstatic to be done!
In the midst of school, new jobs, and the long-distance, they managed to see each other at least once a month. Distance didn’t stop them from traveling and creating incredible memories with friends and family. Now they live in Arcadia/Phoenix where they walk to their favorite coffee shop/pizzeria LGO, with their dog charlie. Ethan and Ashley are fortunate to be able to walk to their favorite eateries right in town, live close by their favorite hiking spots, and are able to bike the canal with friends. Ethan comes from a very large family but fortunately, they all live in AZ. Ashley’s parents also live close by as well! Ethan especially loves going to Boomer and Jeanne’s house for the amazing food Jeanne cooks and the free beer that Boomer offers; Ethan is not yet on the packer bandwagon, but the Pack is a close second to his hometown AZ cardinals.
Both Ashley and Ethan are working for incredible employers and both truly love their work and feel like they truly are making a difference in other people's lives. They eventually want to start a non-profit organization together educating young kids on nutrition, health, wellness, and the importance of community. They have big aspirations and are ready to take it on together. They are so excited to tie the knot this April, it has been a long time coming… 4 years and counting!

Ashley grew up as a military brat moving all around the United States until High School. Jeanne (Ashley’s mother), John (Ashley's father), John ( Ashley's brother), and Ashley ended up “settling” in, in Colorado Springs where she went to middle and high school. When Ashley thinks of her childhood, she thinks of Colorado. This is where she met her closest friends, a group of 7 girls who lived in the same neighborhood. The “neighborhood gals” took on middle school, high school and some even went to college together and still are all in touch! She has some of her greatest memories with these girls from ski trips, proms/high school dances, football games, cheer competitions, learning to drive, their first boyfriends, throwing parties in their parents' basements, etc. The list goes on.. Ashley graduated high school in 2011 from Air Academy and then went off to study at Colorado State University. Throughout her time at CSU, she met some of her closest friends, including her random roommate Jenna, who is now her maid of honor. It was at CSU where she truly discovered her passion for the human body, and graduated with her degree in Sports Medicine/Health and Exercise Science. She decided to apply to physical therapy school and was accepted to the Doctorate program for Physical Therapy at Pacific University in Portland, Oregon. In 2015 she started her journey to become a physical therapist. In her three years in Oregon, Ashley created lifelong friendships and explored the PNW. After graduating from PT school, she moved out to Arizona and started in sports rehab in Scottsdale, Arizona. At her first job out of school, Ashley learned a lot from her mentor, Colleen, who she still keeps in contact with today.
Ashley has always had a passion for Women's health; and after being at her first PT job for a few years, Ashley decided to pursue this specialty further. She now is a Pelvic floor physical therapist and works with an incredible team at the Woman’s Center of Advanced Pelvic surgery in Arizona. She has met a true friend and greatest mentor, Andrea, who has taken Ashley under her wing and taught her the world of Women's health. Ashley is beyond happy with her career move as she is helping so many women get healthier every day. Ashley wants to continue to grow in the space of women's health and educate all women about their bodies and be an advocate for women who are suffering. She is in love with this specialty and has her eyes on so many different goals, and has hopes to achieve more in her career as a Women's Health specialist.
If you know Ashley, she is into anything/everything “health and wellness.” She has tried every type of holistic healing modality you can think of. She loves to try new recipes and tends to make a MESS in the kitchen. You can find her listening to any type of biohacking podcast out there. She has become a spin groupie at Power and Flow where she has met some of her closest friends here in AZ. Every morning she is up at 4:30 am working out with her crew at Third Space Athletic Club. Third Space has become a very special community for both Ashley and Ethan.
She is motivated and has a true passion to help others. You won’t find Ashley taking a nap or watching TV because she can’t sit still for that long and is always wanting to do more! She is BEYOND excited to marry her very best friend come April. She is ready to take on life with her best friend and start a family one day!
Ethan was born and raised in Scottsdale, Arizona. Growing up, Ethan was a shy kid; being the youngest of 4 loud siblings, Ethan stood back and let his siblings do the talking for him. Ethan moved around schools quite a bit growing, but starting in 4th grade, Ethan started at a new school where he remained until high school. While at this new school, Ethan met his core group of friends, who remain his best friends to this day (some are his groomsmen). Growing up, Ethan and his buddies were inseparable. They would do all of the things normal Arizona kids do; ride their bikes to each other's houses in the dead of summer, swim year-round, and go golfing, just to name a few things.
It wasn't until college when Ethan came out of his shell. Ethan went to college at Colorado State University and took full advantage of everything Fort Collins has to offer. Ethan joined a fraternity and again found a core group of friends who he became very close with; some are his groomsmen!
Ethan and Ashley first met while they both attended Colorado State University during their undergrad years. While at CSU, Ethan and Ashley were just acquaintances; Ethan was more into his fraternity obligations (which bar had the best special that night), and Ashley was preoccupied with her multiple boyfriends.
After college, Ethan moved to California for a few years until he realized Arizona was the place he wanted to live for good. Ethan worked in advertising in Arizona for about five years after college until reconnecting with Ashley, and ultimately deciding to go to law school. Ethan started his law school career at Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa, and finished law school in downtown Phoenix at ASU. While at Drake, Ethan became close with some people in his section at school and created lifelong friendships. Law school, and especially the bar exam, create an inseparable bond with the ones you experience it with. Some of his closest friends from law school are his groomsmen at the wedding!
Law school is now over and Ethan & Ashley live together in Arcadia, Arizona with their dog Charlie. Ethan loves the outdoors, hiking, cooking, reading, working out, nutrition, anything Arizona sports (especially the suns), and is always keen to try new things! Ashley is the perfect co-pilot and has made life for Ethan exponentially better. Ashley makes life more fun and Ethan could not dream up a better person to experience life with.
