LaTisha Spence
Matron of Honor
Cousins are the first best friends you make as children and the only friends guaranteed to be there for the rest of your life! And that is the exact description of the relationship between Asha and LaTisha. LaTisha serves as a best friend, sister and now a Matron of Honor. From childhood to adulthood, Tisha has been there through thick and thin and high’s and low’s. When Charles first met Tisha, the three of them stayed up talking until 3 am forcing him to listen to Beyonce’ on repeat! It’s safe to say that Charles survived Tisha’s gauntlet proving his love to her closest cousin. Fun Fact: Asha played matchmaker to Tisha’s now husband Shadeed Spence. Asha was the key assistant in helping Shadeed in surprising Tisha on her engagement day, and Tisha returned the same surprise to Asha on her engagement to Charles.
Miya Nicole Leonard
Maid of Honor
Miya and Asha met in college but bonded over 3,698,567 minutes of phone time years after college! Can you imagine having a person you can call at any hour and they answer e-v-e-r-y time? Miya and her unicorn capabilities has built a strong sisterhood and celebrated every moment in Asha’s life. Miya was a witness to the very beginning stages of when Asha met Charles. Miya made sure that Asha was giving Charles a fair shot and refereed those crazy moments of growing pains between the two! Miya was determined to make sure that Asha did not miss out on her blessing and now she is standing by her side of her greatest day witnessing a union that she played a major role in. Asha was finally forced to share Miya with Charles and now she serves as besties to them both (unfortunately) Fun Fact: Miya is the real bone holder to all of Asha’s secrets, she holds about 3 tons of pure filth on Asha so bribes are available but running pretty expensive if you’re interested.
Veronica Njodinizeh
Maid
Veronica met Asha when she was 10 years old through Asha’s sister Fayola Huffman. To determine if Asha was qualified enough to be of any good company of Veronica, a barefoot race from light pole to light pole had to take place. After experiencing an extreme beat from Asha, Veronica quickly realized that she was befriending a solid work horse and proved to be beneficial of having someone fast as thunder in the crew. Veronica grew within the Huffman family becoming another member and an additional sister. Fun Fact: While in college, Asha received a call from her mom that Veronica was moving into Asha’s room and to not bother any of her stuff when she returned home; Asha had to ask for permission to enter her own room! To date, Veronica still has plenty of stuff in Asha’s old room and if any of it is of great value, you may find it on E-Bay so stay tuned!
Tamela Raybon
Maid
Asha met Tamela while living in Huntsville, AL attending A&M University through mutual friends. (Inside joke for Tamela) Tamela instantly took Asha under her wing, offering her wisdom and guidance during Asha’s “spring chicken” stages. Tamela took on the role of being a big sister and a mentor. Tamela poured into Asha with life lessons and a vulnerable transparency that developed an everlasting bond of sisterhood. Tamela was instrumental to Asha while figuring out her career path, helping her achieve a job that ultimately led to employment with the Federal government. (Sometimes it’s about who ya know folks!) Fun Fact: During Asha’s college years, Tamela was already established with a beautiful home and a kitchen full of America’s favorite snacks. Asha would often be drawn to Tamela’s home as a safe haven due to the Little Debbie’s, grab bag chips and other delectable treats that were always readily available. Sadly, Asha has since moved on to a healthier lifestyle, meanwhile Tamela has maintained a yummy inventory and has even up’d the ante in snackville!
Dr. Hadiyah Green
Maid
Asha met Hadiyah during their freshman year while attending A&M university. They gravitated towards one another over poetry and open-mic gatherings. They would often be each other’s first ear to hear and listen to one another’s artistry of writing; building and empowering one another with incitement and perspective. This deep exchange connected them at the soul; The life “on the yard” and the countless memories Asha and Hadiyah created led to a lifelong bond and sisterhood that has weathered the decades, bearing witness to each other’s greatest accolades. Hadiyah is considered Asha’s “day 1” that started on the yard and that will end in…. wait, there is no ending! This pair is bonded for a lifetime! Fun Fact: Hadiyah was crowned Miss Alabama A&M in the year of 2002-2003 and would often return to Hunstville, AL to celebrate Homecoming. Hadiyah would often stay with Asha was provided a variety of organic fruits, nuts and natural juices that accommodated Hadiyah’s lifestyle. (Hadiyah naturally assumed that their diet was one of the same.) However, when Hadiyah left, Asha would throw all that healthy stuff away and would retrieve her favorite frozen pizza/pizzarolls and other junk food from her next-door neighbor’s house and resumed her junk food lifestyle. Asha has since declared junk food being truly of her past now however, there is no evidence to support her declaration.
Beryl Fleming- Johnson
Maid
Asha met Beryl in San Diego during the early stages of her Federal career. To know Beryl is to love her! It took some time for the quiet, woman of few words and shy personality to warm up the craziness of Asha, but once Beryl saw Asha’s big heart besides her big growl, the two became solid friends. Asha learned that when Beryl voiced her opinion and perspective, it was always seasoned with wisdom and sagacity. Asha describes Beryl as a mini wizard that speaks minimally but in a phenomenal capacity. If you pay attention, it’s impossible to overlook her “beyond years” of wisdom. Significant Fact: (Yes, this is wayyyyy better than a fun fact) In the beginning stages of Asha and Charles dating, Beryl mentioned casually, (while doing her make-up) that she felt something different about Charles and to make sure I handle him with special care. Now at this time, Beryl never met or even spoken to Charles and this was a pivotal moment for Asha as she was beyond fascinated at Beryl’s strong feeling. (Yep! It’s ALWAYS critical to keep good people around you, they’ll lead you into your greatness) So I obliged to her infinite wisdom realizing that God used her as a vessel to deliver a message to me. Moral of the story- If you meet Beryl, listen to everything she says, TRUST ME!
Amanda Hanni
Maid
Asha met Amanda in San Diego while at the same Federal agency as Beryl; However, Amanda was out serving our country on active duty at the time. Amanda returned to work and without knowing initially, they share very similar personalities and the same bullheaded but soft cores. With that in mind, this was not love at first sight kind of deal. In fact, they probably at one point fantasized about pulling each other’s hair out in a disclosed location without any referees! (They seriously dreaded sharing the same air) It took a simple instant message asking if one’s music was too loud, that led minutes later to an emotional hug with tears in each other’s eyes. Yes, this was a perfect dramatic scene out of a movie but took place in an actual work environment. Once they removed the hostility for one another and replaced it with true forgiveness and openness; that’s when a powerful shift had taken place amongst the two! The two became enriched with a higher level of understanding that to know God is equal knowing His people. This discovery has led to countless nights of laughter, unlimited dependability and a solid bond that was gifted by God the whole entire time. Fun Fact: No matter how old this duo gets, they both undeniably feel that the final level of solidifying their love for one another will involve getting into a bar fight together.

(Yea he turned out to be that guy
William Cox Jr.

Asha and Billy serve as first cousins to one another. But for Asha and Billy, the label “cousin” serves as an under description to their huge bond to one another. These two have benefitted greatly from one another, from being protective of each other’s heart and guarding it with their own, to spending many nights leading to mornings either laughing about life, exchanging life’s struggles and being the biggest light to one another when facing a dark moment. Childhood as well as adulthood has been grand because these two get to continue to grow old together watching and witnessing their family multiply. Fun Fact: Asha’s matching making days are still not over when it comes to finding Billy’s rib. So please submit applications Attn: Asha if interested
Phil Schell
Groomsman
Charles met Phil in California while attending college and playing on the same basketball team.  This laidback duo became roommates and McDonald buddies that practically did everything together except for share the same class schedule. Bonding over many college memories, Charles and Phil either kept each other out of trouble or got into trouble together creating a bond that extended past college. Phil later transferred to another college located in Colorado however, Charles did a couple 15-hour road trips to maintain his bond. The statement “A brother for now, is a brother forever", best describes Phil when it comes to being a great friend. He can be called upon at any given time, and he’ll rise to the occasion off the spirit of loyalty. Phil’s core values and belief system became even more enriched as he unfolded beautifully into a dedicated husband and father. Today, he is grounded and anchored by 4 beautiful women that include 3 girls and a beautiful wife named Sara. Charles will be in his best state having his great friend by his side on one of the greatest events of his life. Fun Fact: Between the ages 20 and 36, Phil has bought over 3 million dollars’ worth of Jordan’s basketball shoes and if Michael Jordan himself was aware that Phil is the main reason why sales are consistent, he would probably gift him with a stock percentage!
Jamaal Huffman Cox
Groomsman
A wise man once said, that a man never dies until the last person he’s touched dies. Jamaal (who is the first cousin of Asha and the nephew of the late Howard Huffman III) is the perfect living canvas of that statement. In fact, Asha always says that she finds solace when she looks at the face of her cousin Jamaal, she sees the younger version of her father which brings her the greatest of comforts during this time of healing. Jamaal and Asha have always shared a close bond together growing up as cousins. They have their own unique love language to show their importance and loyalty for one another. Jamaal lives is the inner lining of Asha’s heart, which is why his placement on this special day speaks for itself. These two have never had a broken bond and has always been layered with trust and love. (Although he may be hiding information on the clapper) But you can rest assured Jamaal would absolutely do anything out of the spirit of love for his cousin Asha. Fun Fact: The only argument Asha and Jamaal ever had in life, was when she thought he ate her cheese pizza rolls! Though the thought of this argument seems extremely miniscule today, it literally initiated a real meltdown with Asha back then lol! I guess snacks were extremely important back then!
Tyrese Watkins
Groomsman
Ever had a friend that sticks and fits throughout your many chapters in life? Well, that’s exactly how this duo unfolded into lifetime brothers. Charles and Tyrese met freshman year in high school and played basketball together throughout their most memorable years in high school. From the typical memories of screaming outside of one another’s window as an invite to play street basketball to channeling all their energy as young teens, while perfecting their craft in preparation for the next level of basketball together; This 19-year brotherhood has stood the test of time. Since Tyrese has been the exact same height since the 9th grade, Charles initially thought that he was the school’s security guard! They immediately gelled when they saw each other at basketball practice and have grown as brothers since then. Tyrese has selflessly served our country joining the Navy and called Charles throughout his tour of serving. As adults, Tyrese has served as reliable and dependable brother and has always rose to occasion when Asha needed him in any capacity. There would be no wedding at all if Tyrese (his most solid entity) couldn’t be present. Fun Fact: Shaquille O’Neal was the trending favorite basketball player during Tyrese’s earlier basketball years. He once tried to emulate Shaq by trying to slam dunk the basketball with all his force with hopes of breaking the rim and cracking the backboard glass. Tyrese actually did in fact break the rim however, he didn’t factor in how to dismount from the rim, he subsequently fell hitting head first creating a huge gash in his forehead that required stitches. So instead of looking like Shaq, he ended up looking clumsy!
Ishmael Musa
Groomsman
“Cousins by blood, friends by choice” This quote solidifies it best when it comes to the relationship of Asha and Ishmael. Asha has also had the honor and pleasure of sharing the same childhood with a cousin who she lied on throughout their entire childhood, claiming that her cousin was a real ninja and was hired to fight the toughest people throughout the world. Though Ishmael was a black belt in Karate, this was beyond a far stretch from the truth of being a ninja; This did add to the cool package when trying to brag amongst other kids. (I mean, who could top their cousin being a real ninja!?!?) They also worked side-by-side each other (before childhood slavery was a law) long hours in their family BBQ business, owned by their grandparents Iris and Howard Huffman II. These memories and bondings easily turned them into friends today- they’re each other’s main competitors in practically every game you can think of. Ishmael and Asha are both embarking on life-changing chapters together; Ishmael has a become a newly husband and new expected father and these two will experience new life and new family together. Fun Fact: With Asha and Ish being lifelong competitors, (Asha being a track-star and Ish being a football player) they were always able to lift the same amount of weight. However, Ish, suffered a football injury that wouldn’t allow him to lift anymore heavy weights. Once Asha learned that his injury was non-life threatening, she wasted no time in telling the family that she could lift more weights than her competitive comrade cousin. (Hey! Being competitive is ugly sometimes, don’t judge lol)
