How it all happened...

So, about the proposal. Deciding to propose to Keisha wasn't a difficult decision at all. I pretty much knew from the beginning that it was just a matter of when. The real difficulty came in deciding HOW to propose. I wanted to make sure our engagement was worthy of our relationship and I juggled through a few different ways to propose. Ideas ranged from proposing internationally in Japan, proposing on a boat ride in The Bay, or on a rooftop overlooking the San Francisco skyline. One idea that remained consistent throughout was making sure our family and closest friends were present to witness the proposal. Through the help of friends and family, the plan was ultimately set. I was going to propose to her in a park in San Francisco.

The idea was straightforward. Get Keisha to the park where I would surprise her by proposing to her in front of our family and some of our mutual friends. The timing of it all was pretty much perfect since we were already going to be in The Bay that weekend to help her mom. Just needed to coordinate with everyone else the day, time and location they needed to be. Saturday night, 8 PM, Ina Coolbirth Park.

The main issue was how to get her to the park without her being suspicious at all AND to make sure we were decently dressed. Enter Kenneth. Without his help, Operation: Surprise Keisha would have been that much more difficult. Because of him, Keisha was under the impression that we would be going out for dinner in downtown SF. We had the dogs with us so we told her the place would be dog friendly. This worked in our favor because on the way, we came up with the excuse that I needed to take Kobe (our husky puppy) out to use the restroom before getting to the restaurant. Kenneth, Keisha, and Brandy would drive around looking for parking while I took Kobe down to the proposal area. I texted Keisha that Kobe had an accident and I needed help. The video above explains what happened next...

& a disclaimer I have to make (Keisha here now lol). The reason why they had to shift sides multiple times was because I didn't know which flight of stairs to take to find Ryan & Kobe. I know, already dramatic and it wasn't even wedding day! ;) To answer Ryan's question towards the end, "What do we do now?".... WE PLAN A WEDDING!
