Anish grew up in Florida, but also lived in Philly during his college years before eventually moving to New York City in 2017. These days, Anish's work as a private equity associate takes up most of his time, but when he's not working he enjoys exploring his city with friends, traveling (increasingly, to St. Louis...), making wedding websites (not at all reluctantly), and abruptly jaywalking across the street to pat a dog he saw. Even though Anish has always been a suburban boy at heart, the big city has grown on him - and good thing it has, because very soon, he's going to have even more reason to stick around NYC...
Anish has degrees in finance and computer science from the University of Pennsylvania/Wharton School of Business, and currently works in private equity at Warburg Pincus, a New York City-based PE fund.
Ravali (more commonly known as "Ravs" or "Chinni") was born in Hyderabad, India, and moved to St.Louis, MO when she was 4 years old. She has not left ever since! Apart from her time in SLU medical school and preparing for a pediatric residency; she loves to dance, drink wine, and tell her younger brother (Rishi) that she is DEFINITELY the "favorite child". Little did she know that she was going to meet the love of her life on her first visit to "The City of Dreams" or "The City That Never Sleeps"! Hint hint ;)
Ravali will be starting her pediatric residency at Weill-Cornell Komansky Children's Hospital in NYC!
As Ravali is taking a Lactaid pill before eating ice cream...
-Anish: "Are you lactose intolerant?"
-Ravali: "No I just like to take it for fun." (sarcastic tone)
This is how their story began in Anish's NYC apartment (thanks to Haritha) one fine summer day of 2018.
At first, Ravali thought Anish was pretty cute, but maybe kind of slow? Anish, on the other hand, thought she was pretty, but very sassy! Nonetheless, they began to chat on Facebook messenger a week later, and knew that there was something special from the start. For the next two years, they traveled back and forth from NYC to STL, had hours and hours of FaceTime dates, and supported each other endlessly to create their love story <3
For the record, Ravali now knows Anish isn't slow and Anish knows that Ravali is...still sassy ;)
If you've found who you're looking for, why wait? That was the question Anish asked himself at the beginning of 2020. Without a second thought, he began planning his surprise proposal to Ravali to be held in the spring in St. Louis, but unfortunately, COVID put those plans on hold until August. Still, even if the weather was warmer than he wanted, the surprise went off without a hitch and the newly-engaged couple, their family, and friends were able to gather at Chandler Hill Vineyards on a beautiful summer day. Now, with the simple question finally asked and answered, Anish & Ravali could begin planning their (her) fairytale wedding for the following year!
