How It Started

In early 2014, Angela’s grad school friend, Kristen, invited her to ski with her family friend, Kenny and their group of friends at Kenny’s family ski house in Springfield, NH.

When they arrived, Angela and Kenny became fast friends, but at the end of the weekend, Kenny returned to Plymouth, MA where he owned a house and ran his family’s golf course and Angela returned to New York City where she was pursuing her career in Public Relations.

Over the years, the group of friends would go on frequent ski trips out west and in New Hampshire, but timing was never right for Angela and Kenny.

In March 2019, on a similar ski trip, the stars aligned and Angela and Kenny would start dating long distance from Cape Cod to New York City.

A Covid Love Story

Exactly one year after the couple started dating, in March 2020, Covid happened…

Angela and Kenny went from dating long distance to quarantining together for 6 months up in New Hampshire, as fate would have it.

After a few weeks of quarantine, I spending 24 hours a day, seven days a week together, Angela and Kenny knew this was a lifetime partnership.

In 2021, Angela and Kenny moved to Boston together and the rest is history, as they say.

The Proposal

In May 2022, Angela and Kenny went on their first solo-vacation to San Francisco and Napa Valley.

The couple spent the week exploring San Francisco, wine tasting in Napa Valley while also working part of the week.

On their second to last day of the trip, Kenny suggested they go on a hike up in Napa. Angela spent the car ride working on her phone and not fully paying attention to the beautiful ride.

When they got to the mountain, Angela decided to leave her phone in the car as to not focus on work. For the first time EVER, Kenny asked “are you sure you don’t want to take your phone?” She thought this was odd, but reassured him she didn’t want to take it.

Part way through the hike, they stopped at a viewing area and admired the view of Napa sitting atop a picnic table. Angela asked Kenny why his heart was beating so fast and he said he was getting sentimental about his grandfather. He then told her a touching story about his grandmother and grandfather’s engagement. Angela cluelessly said “that was such a beautiful story,” and didn’t think anything of it.

Then Kenny reached into his backpack and Angela just thought he was getting a cliff bar. NOPE!

Kenny then got on one knee and asked Angela to be his wife. In true “Angela” fashion, she was in disbelief and started freaking out (in a good way) and began her infamous ugly crying. Kenny put a stunning diamond ring on Angela’s finger and the crying continued.

They sat on the picnic table and enjoyed the moment. Kenny then turned to Angela and said “so was that a yes?” More crying ensued and then Angela said yes, of course.

The couple went to lunch in Napa and returned to San Francisco to start phoning everyone to share the news.

And now, it’s time to celebrate!
