Mauli, also known as MOHli, is the epitome of loving, caring, & spirited and is the best little sister Amy could ask for. Though 5 years younger, Mauli has been Amy's voice of reason countless of times, someone to lean on and share life together, and her built-in best friend. They grew up extremely close through sharing their passion for dancing and activities from spending hours on YouTube watching Bollywood America videos to obsessing over the new dance competition mixtape to trying the newest Chloe Ting workout. Obviously as sisters, there was the more-than-occasional banter over who stole each other's clothes, however they always have each others back.
At the wedding, MOHli is likely to be found making the entire bridal party make dozens of TikToks, helping couples come up with their wedding hashtags, and executing on her master plan of tricking the groomsmen and stealing Rohit's shoes. (Be ready, she's coming!)
Runi and Amy met 14 years ago through their childhood dance group, "Sangeet", but it wasn't till they shared AIM usernames on a bus ride to a dance competition where they really became inseparable. These two are always up to something extreme...from doing "no sugar" challenges every few weeks to being offended when someone only offers them ONE Sidecar donut (how can you only have one?!) to then running half marathons with little to almost no training to then spending a night running around SF wearing matching Ted Lasso sweatshirts just for a cute picture. Runi and Amy have countless memories together but their favorite ones always include their one & only true love, Taco Bell.
At the wedding, Runi can be found passionately talking about her love for Manchester City F.C., finding a way to bring donuts & Taco Bell, or dancing to Jalebi Bai with Amy on the dance floor.
Malvika and Amy met 10 years ago at their college dance team's tryouts. Despite having very different personalities from each other, they immediately got along and quickly became not just best friends, but each others "bobs." Throughout college and visiting each other in Irvine and SF they have shared many food adventures, apartment dance parties, laughing till they can't breathe over their long list of inside jokes, the best jumpiest hugs (especially after not seeing each other for months) and now, wedding planning. Malvika has been a constant in Amy's life (including the hours and hours they spend talking to each other on Facetime) and she can't imagine walking down the aisle without her!
At the wedding, Malvika is most likely to be found munching down Hakka Noodles at the Indo-Chinese food station and dancing to some Bollywood bangers in the middle of the dance floor!
While Sharin and Amy first met their first year of college in 2012, their friendship really blossomed when they moved in together the year after. Not only did they bond over having non-traditional Indian names but they created so many inside jokes that everyone around them would be confused as these two cackled away. Whether it be creating their dream wedding and future home decor pinterest boards, obsessing over seasonal Starbucks drinks, or just sitting on the couch talking and laughing for hours and hours about anything and everything possible, Sharin and Amy created countless memories together. After college, they both moved back to the Bay Area and continued their adventures all over SF and South Bay.
At the wedding, Sharin can be found teaching the bartender how to make an Old Fashioned and jamming away in the middle of the dance floor!
Stemming from a multi-generational family friendship, Amy and Nirati have luckily fostered their own individual lifelong friendship. They really became a duo when Amy started working in San Francisco in 2016 and they were in the same city again! From nights of jamming and putting choreo together to having deep life and career discussions to adventuring around SF trying the best restaurants and bars (especially Bruno's!), Nirati and Amy created memories on memories. Nirati proves to not only be the best cook and best host, but also one of the best friends Amy could ever ask for. Sure she's just two years older, but she is consistently the best advice giver, the voice of reason and is someone that can always be counted on.
At the wedding, Nirati can be found near the dessert table trying the different items and also sharing her latest recipes (you should ask her about her food IG account @niratea.time!) as well as helping MOHli with the shoe stealing logistics.
Coming up on their 28th friend-a-versary, Mili and Amy have been each other's longest friends and are truly two peas in a pod. Inseparable as kids, they did and shared everything from swing-o-matics, swimming lessons and dance teams to essentially sharing homes and families. As college came around, conveniently, they both ended up in SoCal and didn't even have to be too far from each other. Growing up, they were always looking forward to when they were going to see each other next and luckily, that has not changed. Mili has always been the center of comedic relief and entertainment as well as someone to lean on unconditionally. Amy can't imagine getting married without her best friend turned sister by her side!
At the wedding, Mili can be found quoting Poo from K3G, telling you about her beautiful plant collection, and dancing to Brown Munde.
Shipra and Amy met during freshman year of college in 2012 at dance tryouts but it wasn't till the year after till they bonded and became close. They share many memories from college including showing up in matching t-shirts to dance practices, post practice Taco Bell/Del Taco runs, obsessing over Arijit Singh songs, getting ready together to go out on the town and so much more. Although they moved back to different areas after college, distance mad the heart grow fonder as they say. The memories created in college soon turned into memories created in LA, SF, Seattle and Austin.
At the wedding, Shipra is most likely to be found asking the chef to make the paneer "Indian spicy" and in the middle of the dance floor jamming away to the classic Bollywood songs.
Also known as Amy^2 and Little Amy & Big Amy, these two started their friendship when since Amy V. was born. Thankfully, this arranged friendship turned out to be one of the most beautiful bonds. Throughout their childhood, they would spend hours in the garage trying to come up with choreo even after spending all day at dance practice. Even that wasn’t enough, so they would stay up chatting on AIM and video calling each other while doing homework. Even though they were in different parts of California during college, they still continued to bond over dance and new adventures together.
At the wedding, Amy P. is most likely to be found sharing the story of how Amy V. is her namesake!
Shabri and Amy met during the beginning of her senior year of college in 2015 through their dance team. Just after a few months of knowing each other, these two became the bestest of friends. Throughout that year they made memories going from dance competitions in different cities to multiple Yard House runs to even just sitting on the couch talking about anything and everything. After college, they continued their adventures both in NorCal and SoCal and despite the distance, their friendship has continued to grow! Shabri has been a constant ray of sunshine and Amy can’t imagine getting married without her by her side.
At the wedding, Shabri can be found telling you about her off-roading adventures and jamming away in the middle of the dance floor!
Manini and Amy met a few years back when Manini moved into Amy's apartment in San Francisco. They became fast friends and have since moved from Soma to Duboce together, keeping the party going! They bonded quickly over a shared love of music, Bollywood movies and exploring SF together! Her calming presence (sometimes) is also a great complement to Amy's antics at home, something which Amy will certainly miss in the future. Manini has also been able to witness all stages of Amy and Rohit's relationship as their favorite third wheel, sometimes even acting as a needed voice of reason during a spirited debate.
At the wedding, Manini can be found assisting a random auntie she just met or at the bar hunting for a Corona!
Roshina and Amy first met in junior high and little did they know that their friendship would carry on for the next 15 years. Although they were friends in junior high and high school, it wasn’t till they both went to UCR until they became much closer. They created memories from freshman year Pentland dorm rooms to moving into their first apartment together Sophomore year to finding the best Thai food in Riverside to twinning with the same dresses in class. Even after college, they continued having more adventures across the SF Bay Area. Despite the distance now, Roshina holds a soft spot and Amy can’t imagine getting married without Roshina by her side.
At the wedding, Roshina is most likely to be found reminiscing college memories!
JP and Rohit's friendship goes all the way from elementary school days of playing countless hours of 2 on 2 football to being roommates for multiple years in their 20s in San Francisco. These two have been all over the local neighborhood, country, and world together - furthermore, the Whitford home has been a second home for Rohit and this occasion would not be complete without Jeff Jr.
At the wedding, you’re most likely to find JP chasing an appetizer tray or grooving on the dance floor.
Adam and Rohit ended up in San Francisco as coworkers at Rohit’s first job out of college. Remaining great friends to this day with many trips under their belt (including trips to both of their motherlands: India and Kansas City), this day wouldn’t be complete without him. In fact, many of Rohit and Amy's conversations circle around the latest adorable photos of Adam's daughter that have been shared.
At the wedding you’re most likely to find Adam in between the dance floor and checking his nanny cam.
Troy was a craigslist roommate find when they both moved back to San Francisco from college…probably one of the best "purchases" Rohit's ever made on Craigslist. They had the pleasure of spending the better part of their 20s together in the infamous 1245 apartment and it was a sad day when Troy left the apartment to venture off on his own. Since then, they've been lucky to go on not one, but two different boating adventures together around Europe.
At the wedding, you’re most likely to find Troy sneaking extra desserts in between jamming on the dance floor.
Sean was one of the best athletes in summer sports camp growing up, so naturally Rohit wanted to become friends. Many years later, as Rohit’s teammate in their infamous “Summer Classic” competition and de facto plus one at some previous weddings (pre-Amy), Sean has remained a key part of Rohit's life.
A man hungry for learning, at the wedding you’re most likely to find Sean educating himself about various Indian wedding traditions from a random auntie.
Evan was one of Rohit’s first friends in Elementary school. The two of them have gotten into more collective trouble than either set of parents care to remember, and continue to do so. Remaining close through college and beyond, we are excited to have Evan be a part of our special weekend.
At the wedding you’re most likely to find Evan holding court with some uncles and aunties, recounting a story from the good ‘ole days.
Rex, an annoyingly good competitor in just about anything including the infamous “Summer Classic”, also shares with Rohit a deep knowledge and love for Harry Potter amongst other nerdier pursuits. Though in different cities, Rex did move to Livermore (where Rohit's office is), which has been a nice bonus for Rohit when he has to commute out to work!
At the wedding you’re most likely to find Rex at the DJ booth, trying to play funk music.
Greg and Rohit have known each other since middle school and spent a great deal of time gallivanting around SF in their early 20s, often for a concert or music festival. Greg's also a great "sherpa" of life - Rohit has to credit things ranging from an overnight hike up to the top of Half Dome to his budding exploration of homemade pizzas to Greg.
At the wedding you’re most likely to find Greg at the catering area sizing up the tandoor as a potential side-kick for his pizza oven.
Kasey and Rohit have shared many adventures together across their adult life, whether it be a mutual love of Marvel movies or a trip to Oktoberfest in Germany. Although Kasey moved around quite often, including a stint backpacking across Europe, he was a frequent house guest at Rohit’s apartment and one of the first friends to get to know Amy!
At the wedding you’re most likely to find Kasey strategizing when to nap in between all the chaos.
Gokul and Rohit both went to USC from the SF Bay Area, becoming fast friends in college, though hanging out quite a bit during college vacations at home as well. A frequent “drive home” companion, these guys have spent countless hours driving up and down I-5 together between SD, LA and the SF area.
At the wedding you’re most likely to find Gokul pitching an innocent person on the merits of Disc Golf (a sport both Rohit and Gokul frequently complete at).
Ian was one of Rohit’s first friends in college and ultimately apartment mate for the final two years at USC. It was a sad separation post college as Rohit left back for the Bay, but frequent trips between LA and SF have kept them close over the years. Ian and Rohit share an innate curiosity into learning about a vast range of topics, which always makes for invigorating discussions.
At the wedding you’re most likely to find Ian at the hotel gym or working to perfect his Indian dance moves in between events.
David was also one of Rohit’s apartment mates during the final years at USC…his wall sized DVD collection was a big influence into Rohit’s love of movies. A common love of great restaurants and good times have kept the trips frequent to the point where Rohit’s Uber App still suggests Dave’s old LA address upon landing in LA.
At the wedding, you’re most likely to find Dave at the Hotel's nearby tennis courts in between events.
Evan and Rohit have a shared love of adventure and living life to it’s fullest. They first met in their 20s, spending an afternoon discussing life and TV while Evan was couch-ridden recovering from breaking his feet on some crazy exploit. Evan's passion is contagious and in true fashion, one of those first adventures (sailing across Croatia) was planned in full Santa Claus outfits over beers in San Francisco.
At the wedding you’re most likely to find Evan at the bar sharing some intense new plan to climb Kilimanjaro in the coming months.
Brian Sullivan, aka “Sully”, and Rohit met when Rohit was visiting friends at Cal Poly, second year of college. He was JP's roommate at the time and JP "arranged" them into a friendship as partners during some competitive games. A wise move as an immediate bond was formed and, although Sully supports the wrong Bay Area sports teams, they have stayed great friends since that fateful visit. These two can often be found sneaking a weekday twilight round of golf in in the East Bay.
At the wedding you are most likely to find him in the middle of the dance floor inventing his own moves.
