Pooja & Pithi
Ganesh Pooja is a ceremony that is done to worship Lord Ganesha for good luck and blessings onto the married couple and their families. This is performed prior to the wedding as pre-wedding ceremonies distinctively done during Gujarati Hindu weddings!
The Haldi (Pithi) ceremony is a close-knit event where the bride and groom's family and friends come together to apply turmeric (haldi) on the bride and groom's face and body. Haldi cleanses and purifies the mind, body, and soul. This ceremony signifies an auspicious start for the bride and groom, marking the beginning of a new life together.
The Pooja & Pithi will be an outdoor event (weather permitting).
This section contains "recommended outfits" for each event. Wearing Indian/Traditional is optional and we do not want to restrict you. However, if you are still really keen on wearing Indian outfits for our wedding, we have provided links in the FAQ tab with a great list of options/ideas for both men and women. Sangeet Night
Sangeet is a pre-wedding party where families and friends come together to sing, dance and celebrate the wedding festivities to come.
In the Gujarati culture, Garba is an eccentric evening celebrating the union of two families. It is typically performed in a circular pattern and characterized by a sweeping action from side to side.
We invite all our guests to bring their best Garba and Bollywood dance moves to celebrate! Don't worry, we will have a few dancers to walk you through the routine/steps during Garba.
Saathak/Grah Shanti
The Saathak/Grah Shanti is the final step taken by the bride and groom before they entered married life. It includes a set of rituals that are performed ahead of the wedding as a way to bring happiness and prosperity into the couple's life. The bride and groom's side are separated with their families with their own respective ceremonies conducted.
This event will be held indoors!

The Baarat refers to the groom and a party of people consisting of his friends and family who accompany him to the bride's "house". The sister of the groom waves a pouch of coins over the head of the groom to keep away any bad luck or "evil eye." Get ready as there will be lots of music and dancing involved.
As Vishal arrives at the venue, Ami’s family and friends welcome him and the rest of the Baraat with a lot of grandeur.
The wedding ceremony will take place promptly after.
Baarat (outdoor event, weather permitting) is immediately followed by the Wedding Ceremony (indoor event).

Baarat will be immediately followed by the Wedding ceremony. Our guests will not be required to change after the baarat for the wedding.
A priest will officiate the ceremony and numerous relatives will perform specific roles under his guidance. The bride and groom will be seated in front of the priest for most of the ceremony. The priest will recite verses in Gujrati and English.
The ceremony will take place at the mandap or Indian altar. A mandap is made up of a roof that is being held up by four pillars which are said to symbolize the four parents that put much effort into raising the bride and groom. In the center of the mandap, which is often raised on a stage, are chairs for the bride, groom, priest, and parents which surround a small alter consisting of a fire and statues of Hindu gods. The whole setup is meant to turn the wedding location into a temple.
The Wedding Ceremony will be a indoor event!
