Camrey and Ruffa met in the fall of 2014. Ruffa was just starting university and Camrey was working in a health and wellness company. Ruffa was offered a position in this same company, however it took A LOT of persuasion for her to join especially since she had just graduated high school and was never interested in the entrepreneur world. She finally took a huge leap of faith and made the decision to join the team!
The whole team got together one evening for a "team building night" and their leader made an announcement to recognize two hard working individuals, which were coincidentally, Ruffa and Camrey! They spoke their first words to each other that night, and after that, they couldn't stop talking.
Over the span of two months, two strangers became very close friends. Camrey had seen a video of Ruffa singing and instantly fell in love with her voice. As their friendship deepened, Camrey grew to love her kindness, her heart, and how comfortable he felt around her, and Ruffa admired Camrey's energy, his ability to make her laugh, and his gentle, caring nature.
There were instant sparks between them, and after many weeks of connecting through voice messaging and team building nights, Camrey asked Ruffa to attend an event with him. At the end of the night, they both told each other how they felt and officially became a couple.
April 21st is a very special day for them as it marks their anniversary and will soon mark the day they get to celebrate their marriage!
6 years of adventures later, Ruffa and Camrey planned a trip to the island with her little sister and foster brother for her birthday weekend. Knowing how much Ruffa loves beaches, Camrey insisted on taking her to one. Once he found a beach, he took out his phone and started "vlogging" to "get a time lapse video of the ocean". Camrey first asked Ruffa's sister and foster brother to jump in the air and pose (for the purpose of the video). He then asked Ruffa to jump in the air and pose with him. They both jumped a few times until Camrey (fake) fell onto one knee, took out the ring and asked her to marry him!
Ruffa and Camrey's reception venue will take place at The Wallace in North Vancouver. Why did they choose this location to celebrate their wedding?
Not only does The Wallace offer stunning views of the Vancouver Skyline, but the location is 1) where Camrey took Ruffa on one of their first dates and 2) is a scenic representation of them both. Camrey is very much a city man; he thrives off of fast-paced environments and finds that his creative energy is fueled by exploring new sights and thrilling adventures. Meanwhile, Ruffa is an admirer of the ocean, often gravitating towards the sea to nourish her soul, and feeling most connected to herself when she is by the water. The skyline that can be seen from The Wallace is a beautiful mixture of both the ocean and the city, and perfectly captures the harmonious blend of both their personalities.
Ever since Ruffa was a little girl, she dreamt of living in Hawaii. After graduating university in 2018, she was finally able to travel to Oahu with Camrey and her friends, and soon enough, Camrey fell in love with the island too. In February 2020 (just before the pandemic hit) they took their first solo trip to Oahu and left their hearts in Hawaii all over again. The lush nature, the crystal clear beaches, the delicious food, the slow-living culture -- it's hard NOT to love the HI life! Ruffa and Camrey initially wanted to have their dream wedding in Hawaii, however couldn't due to the complications the pandemic brought. Therefore, they added a little taste of Hawaii to their wedding!
They hope to go back to the island very soon for their honeymoon and to have a small celebration with their family and friends.
