There are so many fun and unique things to do in New Orleans! Here are a few of our favorites:
Ride the Trolley - hop off to stroll Magazine Street (Alison & Chris's favorite area)
Grab a beignet at Cafe du Monde (and a frozen cafe au lait - Alison’s fave!)
Check out the World War 2 Museum
Feed the alligators marshmallows on a swamp tour!
Explore the French Quarter (early mornings are quiet & peaceful)
Grab a hurricane at Pat O'Brien's
Visit a jazz club
Eat some oysters, get a po-boy and a bowl of gumbo at any of the great restaurants
See where Chris & Alison got engaged at Audubon Park!
Grab a latte at French Truck Coffee
Get a tour of the French Quarter in a carriage ride
Take a cab or Uber and check out the Garden District and see the stunning homes
Q: Are kids invited?
A: We love your little ones! Our wedding and reception will be an adults-only celebration with the exception of our nieces and nephews, so we appreciate your understanding as we plan a relaxed and intimate weekend.
Q: When should I plan to arrive in New Orleans?
A: Our wedding ceremony will take place on Friday at 3 PM. We’d love for you to join us for a casual Welcome Meet & Greet on Wednesday evening from 4:30-6:30pm if you want to get to town early and make the most of your time in New Orleans!
Q: When should I RSVP by?
A: Invitations were mailed in July and include the online RSVP deadline of 9/1.
Q: What is the dress code?
A: Our wedding will be dressy - think cocktail attire—suits or sport coats, dresses.
Q: How do we get from the ceremony to the reception?
A: In true New Orleans fashion, we’ll be second lining from the church to the reception with a live brass band leading the way—it’s one of NOLAs favorite traditions and we can’t wait to share it with you. It’s a short walk (10min). For guests who may need assistance, we’ll have a few pedicabs available to offer a ride to the venue.
Q: What about parking?
A: Because both our ceremony (St. Mary’s Church at the Old Ursuline Convent) and reception (The MISI) are located in the French Quarter with limited parking nearby, we strongly recommend using a rideshare service like Uber or Lyft to the church ceremony. It’s the easiest way to get around—and lets you enjoy the night without worrying about parking. If you do plan to drive, there are paid lots nearby. Plus, we’ll all be walking together from the ceremony to the reception!
Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport (MSY) is the closest major airport. American Airlines and Southwest have many flights. Approx. 20–30 minutes from downtown by car or rideshare.
*Don’t forget you’ll need a Real ID to travel anytime after May!
Transportation Tips:
• Uber/Lyft readily available
• No car rental needed if staying downtown/French Quarter (and willing to get some steps in!)
• Parking at venues/hotels (if applicable)
