Matt Stroot
Officiant
Matt and Alex met for the first time on July 28th, 1989, the day the two became brothers! Over the years the two have experienced some amazing highs and some terrible lows. But, no matter the situation, the two have never faltered in the love that they share for each other. Alex has always taken a special interest in the same things Matt had. Whether it was the music that Matt listened to, the sports the two enjoyed together or the card games that Matt would teach Alex, Alex always strived to resemble what Matt was about and tried to emulate him the best he could. While Alex was extremely proud to have been the best man in Matt's wedding, Alex wanted to make sure that Matt held the most important role in giving Alex away to Kay as the Officiant.
Remy Stroot
Flower Girl
On March 25th, 2014, the world got a lot more beautiful and exciting. That is the day that Alex went from regular old Alex.... to Uncle Alex! The world got to finally meet Remy Jean Stroot and is a day that Alex will never forget. Remy brings to this world a huge personality and a demanding sense of presence. Even though they live in different time zones and do not get to spend as much time together as they would like, there is a sense of family and love whenever they are together. Alex and Kay are beyond thrilled to be able to include Remy in their special day and create a new and exciting bond that they can share with each other the rest of their lives.
Dominique Kraushaar
Bridesmaid

Dominique and Kay have been friends for over 13 years. They first met at volleyball tryouts freshman year at Beaverton High School. They later discovered their love for the Portland Trail Blazers, often talked about their favorite players, and even started going to games together. After high school, Dominique and Kay attended Oregon State University where they grew very close and spent every weekend, if not every day together. Today, Dominique and Kay still remain close and often have happy hour and mani/pedi dates to catch up on what has been going on in their busy lives.  Dominique works as a Social Worker at Randall Children’s Hospital in Portland, Oregon. During her free time, she enjoys traveling and going on adventures with her fiancé and their two dogs, Kobe and Bailey.  Dominique is beyond excited to stand with Kay and Alex on their BIG day.

Maddie McConnell
Bridesmaid

Maddie and Kay met in 2010, during their freshman year at OSU.  Quickly, they became united through their shared interest of HGTV, The Bachelor, and Kay’s disgust in a box of milkduds. Their sophomore year, Kay, Maddie, and Gabby moved into a triplex near campus and became sisters, living together for the next three years.  After graduating from OSU, Maddie and Kay lived together in Oahu, Hawaii.  They spent their days working with the children on the Ford Island Navy base and their weekends sunbathing, hiking, and eating poke galore.  After Hawaii, Maddie moved back to Eugene, Oregon, where she now works as a personal trainer.  Maddie can't wait to be apart of Kay and Alex's special day!

Gabby Pelayo
Bridesmaid

Some would say it was love at first sight when Kay and Gabby roomed together their sophomore year of college at Oregon State. They bonded over talking about absolutely nothing and absolutely everything at the same time and discussing the latest episode of Duck Dynasty. Gabby loves spending time with Kay’s family and loves that Kay likes spending time with hers. One of the best things Kay’s friendship brings is showering her friends with love and Gabby looks forward to being able to do that for her and Alex as they start on their adventure together.  Gabby has since moved back to Eugene and is slowly taking over the family business where she likes to make customers full and happy with chips, salsa, and margaritas.

Jacey Childs
Bridesmaid

Jacey and Kay met during their years at Oregon State University but their friendship truly blossomed during their junior year when they lived in houses just down the train tracks from each other! After the countless late nights with the 442 crew, the beach house adventures, and everything in between, their friendship has truly withstood the test of time and distance! Not even living on opposite sides of the state can dampen their love for each other! Kay is truly a ray of sunshine and Jacey cannot wait to stand with her and Alex on such a special day!

J.J. Hines-Steiner
Brosmaid
Kay and J.J. have been friends for over 10 years. It all started in the Beaverton High School theatre department... Over the last 10 years they have encountered significant life moments together and made unforgettable memories. Whether it was riding around in her old Subaru while J.J. & their other friends yelled "Hey" out the window at random strangers on the sidewalk... Friday night family dinners at her parents' house... Waiting in line for football tickets when they went to Oregon State University at ungodly hours of the morning, in miserable weather conditions... Confiding in one another some of their deepest secrets (Kay was the first person J.J. felt comfortable to "come out of the closet" to)… and even living together, both at Mark and Dianne's house when J.J.'s family moved away to Arizona and just after Kay graduated from OSU, as well as their own apartment for 2 years in Tigard...Their friendship has withstood all the ups and downs, throughout all the years. Kay was the GroomsMaid of Honor on J.J.'s wedding day & her attentiveness did not go unnoticed. J.J. could not be more proud to stand by her side on her wedding day as she steps into forever with Alex!
Justin Matthews
Brosmaid

Justin and Kay met freshman year at Oregon State, in Mr.Keith Stone's math class.  Through group projects, two broken laptops, running away and drinking tequila in closets, watching Intervention with the crew, putting mattresses in the living room, car rides with Kay and the Gays and moving into The 442 Crevice together, they figured out how to really be there for each other through life’s up and downs. 10 years later their friendship has lasted through all the buckness.  After college, Justing moved to Medford, Oregon, where he works as a digital media marketer.  Justin can't wait to celebrate with Kay and Alex on the wedding day.

Sean Guargena
Best Man
Alex and Sean have known each other since 5th grade. Sean moved to the United States at one years of age from the mother land, England! However, it took us a while to finally meet, thanks to summer football programs hosted by the high school. We quickly realized how close we lived and the rest was history. It was the love of sports that instantly connected us and created what would become a life long friendship. From the days of playing together outside, to going to student night Twins games on Wednesdays, to competing in almost anything and everything we did, there was nothing that would stand in the way of the bond that was created. Sean has been a huge support in Alex's life, especially since 2006. Even though they live many states away, the bond that was created has never waivered and never broken. Alex was honored to be the best man in Sean's wedding in 2019, now Sean is beyond excited to take on the same role for Alex and Kay as they start their own journey into forever.
Ryan Bice
Groomsmen
Through no fault of their own, both Ryan and Alex have different ideas as to when they first met. However, they both can agree that it was through their mutual friends in Vancouver. Through their love of all things sports, mainly softball, their friendship quickly blossomed into one that will stand the test of time. Ryan, commonly referred to as "Bice", has been a friend that can be relied on, no matter the situation. He is the truest definition of a genuine person and makes sure that all feel included and welcomed. Alex had the pleasure of officiating Bice's wedding and Bice could not be more elated in celebrating the union of Alex and Kay and watching them start their own forever.
Ryan Peterson
Groomsmen
Ryan and Alex met at Eden Prairie High School, when Alex was a junior and Ryan was a senior. They met in Gourmet Foods, which anyone from EPHS will know is one of the most fun classes you could take and was considered to be an Easy "A". As the photo depicts, Ryan and Alex's friendship has been goofy and crazy since the beginning. Whether it was fantasy football, trips to Mystic Lake Casino, or just being typical boys, they have created a unique friendship. As a part of that unique friendship, a conversation cannot begin without the two of them saying "Hi Alex" or "Hi Ryan". Ryan is honored to be able to be apart of the special day when Alex and Kay begin their life together and take that next step in life!
