Akash and Anika is a story of true high-school sweethearts from sunny San Diego. At first, they were just friends but this friendship slowly turned into something more. It wasn't until May 25th, 2008, when Akash asked Anika to be his girlfriend. Yes, 2008! You read that right, more than 13 years ago. Like every relationship story, it may sound cheesy but I hope you are able to understand the true bond that they have forged together throughout all these years.
For 13 years, they shared and endured through many joyful and challenging moments that life sprung upon them. What's more is that they were often long distance with distances up to 2,500 miles. This, however, did not deter them! It, in fact, allowed them to grow while learning to trust and rely on each other no matter where they were in the world. Sharing a love for tennis, food, and traveling, these two made sure that every moment together was always an adventure.
Finally after so many years together, Akash got the courage to get down on one knee and propose. He proposed in the very place where he first met Anika on August 8th, 2020 with the ocean in the distance and family looking upon them.
Akash and Anika are both excited for this next chapter in their life and cannot wait to celebrate with all their loved ones!
