Opeyemi's Story:
It was the 11th of November 2018, and my family was having a 40th-day remembrance for my dad in Lagos. Earlier that day, Lagos played a fast one on me by stealing my car, little did I know that I was going to meet the love of my life that day. Amoke had just arrived from a grueling 14-hour flight from the US and had only stopped at the venue to pick her mom up. Her mum urged her to come into the hall to say hello to some of her friends and aunts. It was at that moment I saw her as she was ushered into the hall by a Police officer, I thought it was a bit strange and hoped all was well, all the while being impressed by her beauty. Later, I was surprised when I saw the same beautiful lady taking pictures of my mum and her friends and of course, “out of curiosity”, I asked my mum if she knew who the stunning young lady was.
Abisoye's Love Story:
Ope’s mum reached out to a friend who is also my mother's friend to ask about me. This mutual friend asked to introduce me to someone or just have a glimpse of this man without engaging him in a conversation, and I reluctantly agreed as I was not interested in meeting anyone at that point in my life. We went out to have a look at the person and immediately turned back towards the hall but on second thought, she said it wouldn’t hurt to say hello. I responded, "If you insist” but of course I was happy with her suggestion as I was impressed by the good-looking young man I saw. We spent the entire evening talking and laughing like old friends and when it was time to leave, we exchanged contacts and have spoken every single day since then.
