Our Story

How We Met:
The story of Abby and Anthony began in the fall of 2016. The two of us met through mutual friends and had a class together at Arizona State University. Things grew from academia to social as Abby began to come to Anthony’s fraternity events.

Anthony invited Abby and her friends to come with a group of his friends to the Florida Georgia Line concert, on October 7th, 2016. None of Abby’s friends were able to attend, but Abby told Anthony she would come. The deal Abby struck with Anthony was that she would only come if he promised to stay with her throughout the evening due to not knowing many other people in the group. The first kiss happened before the concert even started, and since that evening Abby and Anthony have not left one other's side.
Six years and one day later, the two of us will tie the knot in Nashville, Tennessee on October 8th, 2022.

Over those six years, the relationship has only continued to grow stronger. The two of us studied abroad together in Barcelona, and traveled across Spain, Portugal, Ireland, the Netherlands, France, Denmark, Germany, Czechia and Italy. We graduated college together, both from the W.P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University. Abby has launched multiple entrepreneurial business ventures, while Anthony completed law school and a masters degree. We brought not only Archie but also Alfred, two cavapoo (not quite puppies anymore) into our lives. And in the spring of 2022, the two of us will moved to Hoboken, NJ.

How He Asked:
Anthony finished law school in May of 2021 and took the bar exam that July. He spent the majority of time between those two events preparing for the exam. Little to Abby’s knowledge, the day that Anthony graduated law school is the same day that he picked up the engagement ring.
Two days after the Bar Exam, to celebrate it’s completion, Abby and Anthony along with four friends, Alex, Kristian, Ian and Sam took a trip to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. The first night there, they had a reservation at the beautiful restaurant Le Klif.

At this point, out of the reservation for six, five people knew there was going to be a proposal. Quickly after their arrival at the restaurant the couples were asked by a “photographer who worked for the restaurant” to walk around the property to take some photos.

When approaching the rose pedal set up and ocean overlook, the photographer informed the group that “there was a wedding scheduled for later, but they could take some photos quickly.” Here, Anthony got down on one knee and asked Abby to marry him. Abby said yes, and the couple celebrated with the most expensive alcohol the restaurant had to offer (Alex and Ian got bamboozled into ordering that).

Abby was shocked! While knowing that marriage was likely in their future, Abby was sure Anthony did not have the time to coordinate the details required for a proposal just before the bar exam. Little did she know, he had been planning it for months!
